I think Pele will always have to be graded a little differently since he didn't play club ball in Europe. Takes away a lot of the basis for comparison.
I think its a knock on Pele. Week in and week out, Messi excelled against best the world had to offer, whether they were born in Argentina, Brazil, Europe, or elsewhere. Since they played at his rival clubs.

Does anyone know if there is a way to rewatch the post game and trophy ceremony?

Stupid Fox moved it to FS1 for NFL reasons. Then the Fox Sports app crashed so I couldn't watch any of it. Apparently I'm not the only one. On top of that, in Houston at least, it wasn't even NFL, it was a fricking Dateline episode!!!

I can't find anything on Fox Sports app to rewatch. Any ideas?

Amazing final. Congrats to Pessi & Co. He converted 4 out of 5 PKs throughout the tournament, both new records. His assists were sick, but his 3 non-PK goals were meh, especially the weak foot (right) tap-in during ET. Argentinians continue to be trash, both players and fans. Obnoxious lowlifes to the core.

Fair. And agree on Ligue 1. But that team would run any league.

Yes. I cannot Fing wait for the Champions League to kick back off. I have never been this excited about soccer. And I have watched/played/coached/refed it for 40 years now.

We had the UIL State Championships.

Then we had the largest comeback in NFL history

Then we had the greatest soccer game in my lifetime

Then we had the worst turnover/touchdown to lose a game I have ever seen(thanks Patriots)

We saw Messi with Barcelona at Camp Nou in 2016. Suarez, Neymar and Inesta were on the team. Messi came on after half (it was the first game after a FIFA break) and he was clearly a class above everyone on the all star Barcelona team. Even my husband, who knows almost nothing about soccer, was wowed by Messi.

Mbappe excites me as well, but he is a very different player than Messi.

I really do not understand the perceived hate for Messi or even class acts like Harry Kane. Both have been nothing but class and good for the sport.

I take it even farther. I think people who dislike Messi have some sort of mental problem. Either they are so blinded by loyalty to another team/player that they irrationally hate a rival player who is about as objectively good of a person as it gets. Or they hate objectively good people. Either way that's bad and says a lot more about the hater than anybody else.

Mbappe…scholar. So European soccer is better because they have like 5-6 teams who could win World Cups while South America only has two, therefore that's why Europe wins it more often. What stunning insight.

Mbape is somewhat correct. Group stages of Euro competitions is a joke but Nation's League is tough. Every match in CONMEBOL for WCQ is difficult as well as Copa America.

The challenge is that non-UEFA teams have hard time scheduling UEFA due to fixture congestion.
