That's a tough ball to protect against if you're a goalie. I blame De Ligt for being in absolutely horrible position. If you're going to play Delap on and not step up then you need to be right side of him or you need to make a wonder tackle and play the ball. He did neither. Pure passenger. He did worse than not being there because at least if he wasn't there, Delap would have been offside.
I'm not defending De Ligt, but the ball stayed on basically the path it was already on. I'm not saying Onana could cover the whole goal because it's clearly impossible, but… what was his plan if it just continued along?
Anyway, we're likely to lose this game and almost definitely won't win it. If that holds true, we'll get exactly 1 point this season against Ipswich.
Amorim is averaging less than a point per game since he was hired. To be clear, this was always a scenario when Ineos pulled the trigger midseason for Amorim. It's really another indication that Ineos continues to **** up every decision they make.

I see it as a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation there. Not saying he's faultless but it's a lot more understandable than De Ligt's multiple errors. He didn't step up to play the offside trap and then made two more errors after that...all in the span of 2 seconds.
We should have made Ruud the interim, imo. I think ten Hag made it to where he had to go mid-season, but bringing in a 3-4-3 manager in when we don't have any players that could really play the wing back positions at mid-season was probably not a great idea.

Yes. Worst case scenario is you're in the same league position as now but with a guy who is clearly the interim and you don't undermine your long term manager from the get-go. Best case scenario is Ruud kills it but you don't repeat the Ole situation and you get your guy in June (albeit perhaps with some pressure if the previous interim did kill it)...and spend the season planning your summer for your new guy because you know he's going to need players.

Hojlund finally gets set up with a great chance within 6 yards of goal and he dummies it to...absolutely no one.

I remember last year thinking Hojlund had an amazing combination of size and speed. He doesn't look like that this year.
He looks completely void of even the idea of confidence. He's perpetually frustrated. One thing I worry about with him (and other young players on United) is if we are just breaking them into a million pieces. Youth movement is admirable but the culture and atmosphere around the club is atrocious for young players. Garnacho falls into this camp too I think.
Bruno and Mazroui making 60 yard runs to create a chance on the counter. That's a thing that just happened.
Hojlund was struggling but if there's ever a time to keep him on it's when your only chances are coming on the counter and you need pace. Zirkzee looks half the player he was as an advanced forward. I guess the counter is he maybe provides more defensive cover on set pieces than Hojlund does but I personally like to keep at least some notion of attacking threat when you have a lead but are down a man.
Defied the odds and got the win. Another incredibly difficult game against a relegation team at home but...whatever.

3 points is 3 points, I guess. This team is at a point where no win can be expected. Am I happy about that? No. But that's where we are at, and winning as a 10-man team over Ipswich is sure as hell a lot better than losing to Ipswich.
I don't really know what the future hold for United, but I know its a lot darker if we have to come out of the Championship following relegation.

I didn't realize that Garnacho walked down the tunnel after getting subbed off and never came back. He changed out of his wet clothes and watched the game from...not the bench.

Eriksen starts and we look somewhat competent in the first 15 minutes.
I'm of the opinion that our best performances have come with Eriksen on the pitch. But he's old and so Amorim saves him for cup games since those are the most important games United has left.

Onana with a huge save in added time to keep the game tied. Obi could have won it with the last kick of the game.
Obi is going to get 60 minutes in this game and Ayden Heaven 30. I'm not sure if they are ready for it but that's where we are.
Keeping in mind I missed minutes 45 through 85 but from what I've seen of this game, United have been the better team. Smith Rowe had a great chance that Onana did very well to save (the save in added time I referred to) but United have had at least 3 great chances late on and in extra time.
And as I say that Leno makes a huge save on Obi late in the 1st period of extra time.

I don't understand Zirkzee. He can pull off some insane close control and absolutely embarrass a defender before pinging a perfect pass and then 2 minutes later he'll first touch the ball into the third row.
And penalties it is.
