We could remember the last coach we hired from FSU also, but we don't really have to now do we?

I like this coach but let's not forget Trev hired
Stoops who is now unemployed
didn't even interview Cigneti either

The OP asked targets - not offers. Are you telling me those coaches were never "targets" for the search? And many (if not all) didn't turn down going further down the process?

Or is that pragmatic given the budget for the dept?

Are we talking Seth? The person that just put together a Top 10 recruiting class even though the program was declining at a fever pitch? I would not have a problem with Seth staying on to recruit, because he has proved he can do it at a high level. Keeping the girls in the program was the problem, not getting them here..
But if Bobby has his own guys then he should go with his own guys.

From what I've heard, we were turned down by two coaches after initial conversations. It may have been that they removed their names from consideration. But of course, this could be wrong as I don't have firsthand knowledge. At this point, it doesn't matter because we have a good hire now.
TCUx2, Baylor, UW, LSU, and Iowa (just this last week), to name a few.
With that said, even though it was a long, meandering journey, the feedback I have gotten from some FSU families is that the girls really liked him and that he will be an excellent hire. The hard part will be whether he can recruit Texas kids and whether Trev will give him the resources needed to be competitive.

Why do we have to recruit Texas kids? I hope he recruits players who will succeed and Win A&M a National Title

We've gotten some stud 27's from California. Would be a shame to loose them if Taylor leaves.

Support the team. Give him some time.taylorswift13_ said:
It doesn't matter now who turned us down, who we were looking at, we got our guy! Bobby Shuttleworth! He obviously knows the game, he's well known, he's seen what it takes to win.
I was clearly one of, if not, the most vocal about wanting a change. Change is here. Now it's time to back out man, give him some faith and patience, and allow him to prove why he got the job. It's our turn to show what Aggie Soccer can be, what this community is, and what Texas A&M is all about. We're going to Pack Ellis, we're going to cheer like crazy, and teams are going to fear and respect Texas A&M like they used to.
Look what volleyball has become just with the right man at the helm. Students bought in, the community bought in and we made a sweet sixteen in year 2 and we're playing in another in a few days.
The jury's still out and who knows what success Shuttleworth will bring, but I am just so excited and thrilled to begin a new era of Aggie Soccer. We all know what the last few years has been, but we all know what the potential is. Let's turn Aggieland into the golden soccer community it deserves to be.
The Shuttleworth Era is here, let's see how this staff unfolds, let's build a championship roster, and let's go BTHO EVERYBODY and get Aggie Soccer back to the College Cup!
