The Associate Head Coach typically runs practices, game plans, and style of play. Phil did this during his tenure.

When Phil was forced out, G made Seth/Alyssa in charge of the offense; Tim ran the defense. That was a very uncommon structure.

Senior associate head, associate head coach, and assistant coach are just administrative titles. They end up having to do with salaries paid as opposed to duties. Some schools don't even have the senior associate or associate titles, everyone is just an assistant coach. The duties among the entire staff can be distributed in many different ways based upon backgrounds and specialties of each coach.

Coach B - works with attacking unit, recruiting, practice planning and opposition scouting
Coach C - leading instruction of the Husky goalkeepers

Still do not know who amongst the support staff will return or not but will probably find out in the near future. SOOO, I am still anxious for the roster page to be updated to find this out and, of course, what players will be listed.

After G 'retired', the roster page was removed from the soccer page for 2026. 'Roster' was not on the menu of the soccer page (usually has schedule, roster, news, etc.). No players, coaches or staff. When Bobby was hired his was the only entry under the new 'coaches' in the menu. Now the announced assistant coaches and Curt are on the page (under 'coaches', not 'roster', like every other sport) but no one else. And there is even a 'coach bobby shuttleworth' menu item. Eventually the support staff and players will show up but will they all be under the 'roster' menu item like in the past? Assume so but ... .

I do not recall the softball roster page being completely 'wiped out' when Coach Ford took over and no idea who directed this on the soccer page but no doubt it is just a temporary thing during the transition. I check it every few days because I am curious AND that's when we will know who has been retained, hired, etc.

I actually played for Coach Robert Shuttlesworth - fantastic mind for the game as we scored 1 goal all year when the goalie punted it backwards over his head

Given the timing of the coach hire, I think we will have to wait for spring portal to see much of a roster change. I haven't heard of any transfers in yet and only the two transfers out. I suppose there could still be the possibility of a couple of transfers in, but there isn't really even much room on the roster until some cuts are made.

Florida State freshman, Ashlyn Anderson has transferred to Texas, while Peyton Nourse has transferred to TCU.

Seth Taylor now an assistant coach for the sips.

Saw that. He could potentially bring those Aggie recruits in the pipeline to TU…

Yet the fawned over the Texas hire and that coach has now hired the assistant that people here wanted to get rid of.

So either people here were wrong about Seth or the Texas coach is not that good and just made a terrible mistake.

Most of us wanted a head coach to be able to pick their staff and not being forced to carryover the ENTIRE staff. Bowers was the easy choice to carryover since she'd be the only woman on staff the way Shuttleworth's on staff picks shook out. Had we hired someone else, Taylor may continued on and I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Roster limit is 28. In bold is the incoming freshman class and I removed Maysen, Reese, and the seniors.

I think context does matter and for her this hire makes sense she comes from california and looking at the other two assistant coaches she got she needed a coach with in state connections. Id be dumb to not hire a coach with Texas connections since a lot of Texas girls leave to go play at those top programs.

That's true, but we're not privy to that designation.

What is a DSA?

Designated student athlete. It was a compromise to the roster limit rollout where any athlete that was either going to be cut or decommitted due to lack of room with roster limits would be given a designation for the entirety of their eligibility. They can always be #29+

I'd be surprised if any on the roster are DSA's given that we only had 27 on the roster this season. I'd expect lots of cuts in the spring as new coach tries to shape the roster into what he wants with those available in the portal. Was hoping he would be able to get some portal signings now, but timing of hire likely made that close to impossible.

We could take as many DSAs as we want, but would they really help the program?

I think the reference was to DSA's on our current roster (which I don't think exists). But I agree that most DSAs that could transfer in are likely not top talent that could help us win the SEC.

Chris Henderson posted names of all the power 4 transfers in and out today. Looks like there are still some talent out there that would help us win, but not sure current roster size allows us to bring in anyone now anyway.

I can see where coaches would benefit from applying DSA status to players regardless of true intentions. It benefited them and the player.

And people called me his burner for defending him lol
