Clips ain't ****, Spurs got this. Parker will slice and dice, Duncan will neutralize Griffin, Jax will make it rain, and Ginobili will continue his re-awakening. Pop will coach circles around Del Negro with his eyes closed and with a couple of Merlots in him.

Spurs in 5. Maybe 6 if they catch us on a bad day. Now just gotta finish off the Grizzlies quickly so we can get this ***** started.

Go Spurs Go!

Hope this thread turns out to be unnecessary.

Premature maybe, but not unnecessary. No way Grizz win the next 3.

I said hope. The only saving grace is 2 of 3 in Memphis.

If the Clippers do win, I hope that the Spurs absolutely destroy Fake and Flop.

Ehh the Grizz will win game 5 and if they can somehow get 6 then it's up in the air going back to MEM.

A little pre-mature.

Anyone predicting another sweep?

I am.

It won't be a sweep, just for the fact that the Clippers have Paul. Also, the Clips can fill it up from beyond the arc. The Spurs 3-point defense isn't so hot. I think it will go to six games if they play LA.

I agree with Ital. No sweep this round. I think we'll see some good basketball.

I'm going to have to start working calming myself when I'm angry. Chris Paul makes me want to kick a hole in my living room wall. We need an enforcer to put that guy in his place.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised to see Green on him, a la Bowen.

Spurs will win comfortably.

While I've wanted to play the Clippers in the second round, I really can't stand that team so I found myself rooting for the Grizz anyway.

I suspect the Spurs will throw a lot of defenders at Paul. Green, Parker, Manu, and maybe Leonard every once in a while.

I don't see Pop allowing CP3 to control the game the way Train Hollins has.

Spurs in 5. Especially if the Memphis series goes 6 or 7

I think it would be bad for the Spurs if the series went 7 because I think it is the difference between rest and a layoff. Although, I'm not really sure 8 days is that long of a break...it's just that they are playing so well.

The Spurs are playing so well right now that a long break could be bad (but certainly not fatal).

Yea that is concern but I think this team is too good to really just fall off. With the spurs depth I'd rather face a team that just faced a tough 7 game series because it gives the spurs more of an advantage. The games wear on most teams, while, for the most part, the spurs just keep throwing fresh bodies at them and LA won't keep up.

The Clips are trash! I want to play them much more than I'd like to play the Grizz but they are so pathetic I find my self subconsciously rooting for the Grizz.

That being said I hope the Clips finish them off in 5 or 6 so the Spurs can buzz saw freaking Paul and Blake and Flop City. I dont want to wait 8 days with the way this team is rolling

The fact the Jazz were absolutely awful and provided no challenge to the Spurs, as well as the too long off layoff, will end up being more negative than positive when the next series starts.

Why would I when there is such comedy genius that you sours fans actually believe that Chris Paul, the best point guard in the NBA and an arguable top 5 PG of all time, is worse or a "wash" when compared to Tony Parker

and your argument is...because he is a winner. has won championships. clearly no one has actually watched, or played, the game of basketball.

In every single world outside of this attempt at SpursTalk 2.0, Chris Paul > > > > Tony Parker.

Isn't that the point of this whole charade? If the point of the NBA were to crown the best player, making the all star game would be the objective of the season.

Who do you want on your team? The winner, or just the real good player? And please keep in mind that the winner has defeated the good player straight up in the playoffs before. And don't avoid responding in this thread like you dodged me in the last one.

should also point out that the hornets (allegedly) completely rejected any idea of Tony Parker for Chris Paul trade back in the day

quote:
Seems the Spurs took a shot at trading for New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul and the offering player was Tony Parker!

According to Hoopsworld, the Spurs offered the Hornets a deal which included Parker. The Hornets shot down the trade offer immediately.

i won't say tony is better or not without collecting my thoughts because they are so damn close, but this statement just made a strong push for retard quote of the week.

please explain how chris paul is better than derrick rose, and when you get done with that, please tell me who numbers 6-10 on your "best PG's ever" list would be. i would LOVE to see who chris paul is better than with your infinite knowledge.

What's your point? Spurs have shopped Tony before (remember the trade that almost happened for Kidd in '03?). Shoot, even as recently as last year, Parker trade rumors were on the table. Doesn't make Paul a better player than Parker, like you're insinuating. Again, I'm not arguing one way or another--saying which player is better is both subjective and pointless, given that the purpose of a PG (or any player on a team) is to help the team win, and win championships.

Parker's done this multiple times.

Paul hasn't done it once.

That is the bottom line.
