Sean Elliot talks about this all the time, we get a lead and the guys stop playing Spurs ball and start being idiots.

Splitter needs to snap out of it. That last turnover though was caused by Neal freaking out with pressure.

Neal can dribble ok, but he never seems to do anything to get out of ball pressure. Sooner or later, the other team is going to force a turnover.

Not much passing going on right now, but Leonard is keeping the Spurs in it with his rebounding. I have no idea how Duncan got the ball and then the shot. Everyone but he and Leonard is playing poorly right now.

Spurs have gathered it back up to end this game. Still not playing as good as they can, but even on their worst day they're still better than the Clips.

Clips can't hit anything. If they make some of these open shots down the stretch we would be in trouble. Fatigue? Or do they usually miss these?

The Spurs have done a fantastic job at taking Paul out of the game.

The Clips have slowed Parker too, but the Spurs have too many weapons to make up for his less than spectacular night.

didnt think either team played as good as they are capable of, but that being said the Spurs just have too many weapons. Spurs in 4 or 5

Sloppy game, not nearly as bad as the abortion of a game of Pacers/Heat. Thank goodness the three ball was fallling so well otherwise it would have been a lot closer

Spurs just won a game with Parker going 1-9. This team is unreal

Paul held to 3-13 shooting 10 assists, 6 points and 5 turnovers. Spurs take that every time. Paul has to be lights out for the Clippers to win.

Duncan: 12-20 26p 10r 2b 1to
Griffin: 7-17 15p 9r 3b 3to

Good win.

Bledsoe, young and butler are good
Paul and Blake are all stars
If they had a big down low that could score or spread it out they would be alot better
Don't think spurs sweep but should win in 5 possibly 6

Chuck: "I think Tony Parker has been the best point guard in the NBA this year."

note to Chuck: simple thinks your an idiot.

Any one else remember a year or two ago when there was an argument on this board where some were claiming that Aaron Brooks on the Rockets was a better PG than Tony Parker?

Back to Chuck's quote, removing Rose due to injury, i think i might have to agree

I'd still put Westbrook and probably Paul ahead of Parker.

Spurs looked sloppy as hell. I feel good if that's what happens when the spurs play sloppy.

well, after a ton of argument, the Parker-Paul duel was a total dud. They both played like dog ****. Good assist numbers, but horrible scoring and turnovers

I don't know what this guy is smoking. Everybody knows that Paul is the best point guard in the league and Parker is a scrub (we all watched Jason Kidd absolutely humiliate Parker in 2003).

Yes, because a result 9 years ago is applicable today.

Clearly you haven't been reading Simplebay's posts. Dude has been using career stats to show that Paul has an edge over Parker in this series. I was making fun of that

Paul sucked. Parker was even worse. Clearly that favors parker.

Eh, Parker shot worse, but he had more points (from getting to the line and shooting more FTs) and Paul had more TOs.

They both played like total ass. Nowhere near their ceilings.

Doesn't really favor anybody, but I wouldn't expect you to acknowledge that.

From the ESPN comments:

Watching ESPN highlights of the Spurs Clippers game is like listening to a southern Civil War historian with Blake Griffin cast as Robert E. Lee. There is one great southern victory after another and then they flash the final score of Lee surrendering to Grant at Appomattox Court House.

funny, on NBA.com, if you see the highlights of the game, there are 5 other videos of highlights. All clips and none for the spurs. We must be a boring team

I missed this game, but felt great about it. Normally, i dread long layoffs but being this deep, I'm not worried. somebody is bound to have the rhythm and it's contagious. don't know if that was even a factor in this one though...we're just the better team

After the t.u./A&M football game last year I dreaded going to church on Sunday because I knew this 70-year-old die-hard t-sip was going to give me hell. When I finally walked over to him and asked "well did you watch the game on Thursday?", he replied, "yeah, the longhorns came out on top in this one, but neither team should be real proud at this point".

That's how I feel about the Parker/Paul matchup last night. Its pretty clear that the defensive focus of both teams is on stopping the PGs. To compare the two in that environment is stupid.
