Spurs in 6.

Diaw is supposed to come back during this series. With Lee hurt and Bogut about due for another injury, the Spurs should be able to work Diaw back into the lineup nice and easy.

If we win this series Reggie Miller better give our guys a locker room pep talk.

Oh, and if Golden State thinks their first round series was dirty (as some of their interviews indicate), they aren't tough enough for real playoff basketball.

Spurs in 4.

Pahdz, yeah, the Spurs do that. There was another team that snapped their streak of losses in SA just last year. The Clippers maybe?

From Simmons about the last quadruple-header for game 6:

All four teams up 3-2 won that night: Spurs over Suns, Lakers over T-Wolves, Celts over Pacers, Nets over Bucks.

Simmons listing things GSW need to win this game and then ends with this:

quote:
And they'd need the NBA to say, "Wow, how much fun would it be to have the Warriors in the conference finals," then assign Joey Crawford to at least three of these Spurs-Warriors games. (Conceivable.)

I could unfortunately see that happening. Joey Crawford hates SA.

It was the Kings last year. They had not lost to the kings at home in 6 years at that point.

Golden State might get one at home. If they're lucky. Spurs most likely in 4. Golden State will not be able to take this 6 games.

Don't understand the NBA scheduling. GS closed out their series Thursday night and SA closed theirs out several days ago yet start on Monday, yet Memphis and OKC who played last night and closed out play on Sunday???

I think they had to set the schedule as early as possible once gsw won.

The NBA was probably expecting a first round series to go 7 games, but now needed a Saturday game. And that was when the game 7s were supposed to be.

Yeah it doesn't make much sense but I'm no complaining. Hate Sunday day games if that were to be the case and the extra rest isn't hurting us.

Curry has been the hottest player in the playoffs so far. I see Parker's #s dropping dramatically this series since he will spend much time and energy attempting to cover the golden boy. Also, David Lee is expecting to contribute major minutes this series even with the torn hip flexor. I think the Spurs lose in 7. I hope I'm wrong.
Sher Thing

Not worried about David Lee.

Parker will also not be guarding Curry the whole game. Expect the Spurs to throw the entire roster at him every game. Multiple looks.

Spurs losing this series? Lol.

ROFL to thinking a team that hasn't won in SA in years will win enough to get the series.

I honestly expect Green and Leonard to guard Curry most of the time.

I love the who's going to guard Curry????? comments.

Who's going to guard Parker?

From Spurs Report:

quote:
In a sense, guarding Curry isn’t much different than defending an elite quarterback in football. Static coverage just isn’t going to work. Which is why Ginobili anticipates every member of the Spurs’ perimeter corps will get a shot at Curry at some point during this series.

quote:
Whether that’s enough to slow down the red-hot Curry remains to be seen.

Am I the only one that thinks guarding Curry is less important than the guys around him like Thompson and Jack? Limit those guys; Curry can't score enough by himself to win games.

Curry and Parker will neutralize each other IMO.

I think Bogut and Duncan will be THE key matchup. With Thiago out, Spurs have to rely on a hobbled Diaw and Blair to pack the paint with Duncan, which should be a sinch for Bogut. I expect him to hold Duncan in place for the series, and reduce Parker's effectiveness as well (since he depends on cutting down low). Duncan will outscore Bogut, but Bogut will have a bigger impact on the game, imo.

I can actually see Bonner get a good amount of playing time this series, playing the 4/5.

For fahrenheit:

1.
quote:
On the Warriors’ side, David Lee is still hobbled by his torn hip flexor. And while he saw some game action in game 6 versus the Nuggets, even Mark Jackson acknowledged that was more for inspiration than as a real weapon. Lee’s not expected to play a significant role this series.

So there goes that theory of yours.

2. Diaw isn't "hobbled". It isn't like he's coming back from some sprained ankle or something. He could have played last series if it was absolutely necessary.

3. As I have said before, Bogut is a great 1 on 1 post defender who will surely give Duncan some trouble on the 4 down. Saying that, Bogut is a terrible pick n roll defender and the Spurs will pick him apart with it. Duncan will jump shot Bogut to death until he's forced to jump out on him and at that point Parker will go in for his easy layup.

Offensively, Bogut is no better than Tyson Chandler. Which means he is nothing unless being set up for a dunk.
