I am a big Spurs fan, but Ginobili has looked awful save for one basket in Game 1.
Green was way off tonight (during one stretch in the first half he went out of his way to prove he couldn't hit a three by taking three of them in a row and missing all three!).
Leonard was also off (5-12).
Spurs shot 5-21 from three and GS was 11-23 (I think I those numbers correct). That is an 18 pt differential that will kill you if it continues.
I would rather chase Curry and Thompson off the 3 and into the paint where you might either block a shot, force up a more awkward shot, or foul them (hard preferably) and force them to make all of their FTs. Those options are much better than getting torched for 11 threes!!!!
BUT, GS has a pretty strong young team flying around out there making the Spurs look old and tired. Curry, Thompson, Jack, and Lee (who is hurt) with Bogut/Ezeli is a pretty strong group. Deepen the bench and GS could be making deep playoff runs every year.
Spurs will be lucky to survive and advance in this series. I could actually see GS win all of their home games and beat the Spurs in 6. I counting on the 'veteran' Spurs to snap out of the poor shooting, figure out a better defensive game plan, and win the next three, but that may be a simple distant memory of their glory years. I don't know if these guys have it in them to do that this year. I don't see the desire, the burning drive to beat down their opponent like they did the years they won their Championships (and Duncan could jump back then too).
