We need to do a better job playing at the rim. Our bigs got beaten up in the paint, and we were not getting second chance opportunities. When we did, it was frequently on long shots, which meant that we weren't getting easy put backs. I think that to beat Golden State, we need to continue attacking the rim and playing half court offense. A little transition is fine, but we need to get them out of a shooting rhythm. A lot of their open looks came in that secondary break period after pushing it.
The fact is, in the second quarter, a young player got ridiculously hot and put us in a big hole. We clawed our way out of it, but they shot just well enough to keep us from really contesting. We NEED to play better defense early to keep it from getting out of hand like it has in the last two games. That being said, despite what some of the mouth-breathers on this thread think, they're not going to continue to shoot 80+% from beyond the three point line.
