Well I will chime in with some good news.

The Rockets lost to Miami 129-100

+/- for the Rockets starters
Tucker -41
Capela -29
Westbrook -46
Harden -17
Gordon -23

The starters scored 50 points.

Yeah the good news is the reports of the Spurs demise was premature as usual. At this point the Lakers and Clippers look strong as expected. The Jazz have been choppy but I expect them to be among the contenders. Denver has pretty played the same as last year.

That being said I'd put the Clips as the only clear superior team to the Spurs. Especially when Murray comes off his minute restriction.

James Harden is absolute trash.

And NBA refs being what they are, Harden slaps Crowder's nuts and call Crowder's nuts for the foul.

Then Crowder is ejected.

DjM not having his best game. Tra Young was a killer tonight. Afraid Spurs will lose a bunch of these games that we have been accustomed to winning.
AKA 13-0

Unleash DeMarre.

In all seriousness though, losing these types of games is gong to keep us out of the playoffs.

Losing on the road isnt a given. Just last night Portland lost at Golden State and Philly lost at Phoenix. I didnt consider this one a sure win by any means. It's TRUE that this team seems to have a small margin for error. But we will see what they look like as the season progresses.

When we are at full strength against a team that just lost their second best player to a 25-game suspension, I'd say it's about as a gimme type game we will see this season.

So, Spurs just stopped playing defense in 4th? Awesome. Great effort, fellas.

I just love how there are always several posts after a bad game but when the Spurs play their most complete game of the year...crickets.

LaMarcus was on fire. Dejounte almost had a triple double even with a minutes restriction. Trey Liles had his best offensive game. Patty continued his hot start. Bryn is came out of his shooting slump. I could go on but you get the idea.

I know the Thunder aren't the same team but they still have some players.

I spent the whole game being annoyed by CP3. It was awesome to take care of business.

If Lyles starts hitting 3s then this team could really compete. Murray playing 32 minutes instead of 24 will be great too. I like a lot of the pieces here. Derozan is still the most disappointing. I can't tell if I just don't like his game or if I'm judging him based on how good Kawhi has become. DD is about a 70% version of Kawhi. That ain't bad... but it's still a big let down.

I thought Lowe put it well on his most recent podcast. DD is a floor raiser, not a ceiling raiser. He also went on to say he would like to see the Spurs without DD.

I think we can finally put a fork in Marco now. My goodness, outside of spacing and knowing the system, he contributes absolutely nothing.

To be honest, the Spurs are pretty fortunate to be at 5-4 with the way they've been playing. They could have easily given up their first three games of the season. The defense, again, is atrocious.

I just don't know what our team is.

Aldridge goes for 39 points one night and 3 the next getting barely any touches yesterday. I get that he was being played differently, but man if you go to him in the block and know he will be doubled it at least gives you an opportunity to get the defense unbalanced.

For what DeMar brings to us offensively, he essentially gives it right back up with turnovers and crappy defense.

Rudy Gay has a good game one night, then he looks disinterested the next, while displaying a Javale McGee-like basketball IQ.

This is the most consistent Patty Mills has been in a long time, but it doesn't matter because Jakob and Belinelli have been non-existent off of the bench.

DJ is still getting back into the swing of things and is still up and down.

Pop has stripped Walker of all confidence and it looks like Lonnie will be in his own head for the rest of the season with what little playing time he gets.

White's been fine off the bench.

We went from being a top 3 point shooting to barely average.

What are we?

On an unrelated note, in his first two games with the Austin Spurs, Keldon Johnson is averaging 25 its, 8 rbs, 4 assists, and 1 steal. I really think he'd be useful for this Spurs team. Dude has a motor and just doesn't quit, unlike most of the players on our roster. He appears to be really good around the basket and has an ultra quick second hop. This team desperately needs a defender. Wouldn't mind seeing him get thrown into the fire if our bad play continues.

The team is definitely having trouble jelling. I dont like putting it all on Demar but his style of play just grates on me. I prefer constant ball and player movement. When these guys are really moving it they play better at both ends.

I didnt get to see the game yesterday but losing by 20 at home is never good.

Yea. I'm just not a DeMar fan. At least in the role of a top dog.

Well, that was as ugly a game as I've seen in a while. If shots were falling then we couldn't get stops, if we were getting stops then shots wouldn't fall, if we got momentum then we'd give up an offensive rebound an open 3. Just not able to ever put it all together on both ends.

Memphis got their first road win this season.

The starters started slow the first quarter and defense has been bad. Demar disappeared this game and they give him the ball to try and tie the game in under a minute.

LMA is inconsistent from game to game and Bryn started scoring later in the game. The bench helped out.

Didn't see the game last Saturday but the starters don't look like they're connecting.

The starting lineup just doesn't fit. Dejounte, Demar, and LA all need the ball in the spots on the floor to be effective. Bryn is the only outside threat, so there's just no spacing.

We either need to make some moves to be competitive or make some moves to get some picks and rebuild. This group just doesn't gel and 72 games won't change that.
