Big win. But man can we convincingly win a game without giving up a huge lead?

White's form has been great lately. Forbes had a big shooting night but he still got abused on the other end. I guess we are just going to stick with him. Will be interesting to see where the Marco/Walker mins go when Gay returns.

I really hope it's Walker.

I also wish we'd give some of the other young guys a run and see what we have. We're not making a title run this year so why not give some of those younger guys some minutes and let them grow up.

And still the most bizarre thing to me is that Demarre Carroll has barely seen the court. What a strange acquisition.

I don't completely agree with everything, but PTR wrote this the other day about it...

The worst place to be is a middle of the road team and not make the playoffs. That seems to be the Spurs' destiny this year.

Anyone know why Demarre "DNP" Carroll hasn't been on the bench the past few games?

Although not a Spur for over a dozen years, it's still kind of a big deal.

Would have been nice to have landed Derrick Rose for about the same money and let White/Murray play more off ball.

Ultimately, we got screwed by the Morris kid and didn't have a lot of options at that point.

Kawhi screwed us.

The Morris thing? Eh, wasn't great, but this team wasn't going to be very good with him or with Bertans.

Being a Rockets' fan for 40+ years, I am admittedly not a Spurs fan, but I am rooting for the Spurs to guard Zion Williamson like its Game 7 of the Finals during his debut tonight.

Zion has scored 16 straight points to give them the lead for a sec.

17 straight points. He made four 3 pointers and all of them were wide open. Spurs defense for you.

Spurs win.

The New Orleans coach taken out Zion may have won the Spurs the game.

He's got a notoriously poor, flat shot, and there literally isn't NBA game film on him. Any coach with a pulse would rather him chunk up 3s than watch him put on a slam dunk contest.

Zion played really really poorly until his explosion. Hard to say after 18 minutes of game action if he's the next all time great or if the adrenaline and the home crowd helped create a little magic.

I'm sure your gameplan would have been to push up on him and let him drive for dunks.

Well after he made 10 straight points I would think the Spurs should of at least put a body on him. I would of done it after 8 points. Then he goes and makes 2 more three pointers. Go ahead and press him and have him try to dribble. He made turnovers in the game when he was trying to go the lane.

I was surprise the Spurs responded to the challenge and continued to score during that Zion run and the crowd going nuts.

Not sure if you all know but the Spurs won the game. I think the media is not aware yet or may never find out because of Zion.

There is no question that Zion is a unique freak athlete and basketball player. Who also plays super hard. Just a question of how healthy he can stay in his career. But if he stays healthy then the next decade while that athleticism remains, will be a really fun player to watch.

I really, truly hope I'm wrong, but I doubt he can stay healthy.

He's just too damn big. 6'6" 280 lbs??? How can his knees and back possibly support that when he's constantly running and trying to out-jump people?

Also, and I could just be imagining this, but when he's walking, he leans forward like he can't stand up straight. That can't be good posture, right? That just sounds like lower back issues waiting to happen.

I was noticing that last night too. I know NOLA was trying to get him to walk different. Maybe he's just more deliberate about it.

You're surprised? ESPN does a cover story when LeBron's son dunks in a game.

Wait the spurs won? All I heard was Zion made 4 threes

Imagine if they could get walker to play next to zion

One of the most nauseating things to see as a Spurs fan is Forbes clapping at himself for missing shots and making stupid plays game after game like he's better than that (a la Pau)....he's not. He blows.

Poor shooting night from 3 all around though.

20% from 3 and in general the Spurs blew so many nice opportunities. They were really snake bit the entire game even though they actually played excellent defense for the most part.

The closing lineup is what was most frustrating for me. We were ice cold from 3 all game, but we were getting into the paint and getting to the line. So instead of playing White, Walker, and Murray who can all defend and get to the rim, what do we do? We trot out Forbes and Mills. Watching those guys brick wide open 3s and then get beat on the other end (Forbes in particular) was driving me absolutely crazy. We blew several opportunities, but Pop didn't help with his lineup choice in the closing minutes.
Enzo The Baker

Pop shouldn't have subbed Lonnie out. It's like Forbes expects the 'its okay sport, you'll get them next time' with a butt slap. And he gets it every time. I don't understand it. If it were anyone else he would be buried at the end of the bench.

I notice that too. If he makes a mistake on defense or misses a shot he claps his hand a and yells the F word. He does this every game. You would think as many times as he does this he would fix the mistake.

I'm never comfortable when Forbes is in the final minutes. He goes cold quick and defense is a lability.
Ag Natural
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Well both Forbes and Mills have hit huge late game shots recently. You guys act like they've never done anything worthy of earning a minute of playing time. Last night all of our best shooters missed wide open 3s late.

Forbes is a liability on defense if he gets matched up with the wrong guy. All of his "mistakes" last night came when he got caught on Booker.
Enzo The Baker
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
That's just it though. Him getting caught on others is done purposely by the opposing team. If he's turning the ball over and not hitting his outside shots he shouldn't be closing games. And it's not like he has consistently been solid in closing games this year. We have a pretty good sample size. He sucks.
MookieBlaylock

You cantt say he sucks
