Yea, I've also seen reports that Miami and Lowry are okay if DeMar doesn't come as well. I don't see Miami giving up Robinson. They'd be more likely to let DeMar walk IMO. If DeMar does take the MLE, Miami can retain Robinson as well.

Also, NYK and DAL could just straight up sign him too. I think he'd be a major upgrade over Tim Hardaway Jr., outside of the three point shooting. Or the Spurs could just keep him. I wouldn't be surprised if we offered him at least $20MM a year. I hope that all parties just move on though.
Mavs need a 3pt shooter. I don't think DeMar would fit well with Luka.

If DD walks, I think NYK is most likely.

Yea. The Mavs do need shooters, but they could use another playmaker to take the pressure of Luka IMO.

I don't see the Spurs going after Duncan Robinson. They have clearly targeted defensive players the last couple of years.

I agree. I also hate the thought of giving a one dimensional player over $20MM/yr. That almost never works out.

Most Bucks can give Portis is 5.9mm. He wants 15mm/year.

I'd take him for 4y50 then make a run at Dinwiddie/Scroeder/Lonzo.

If we have 48mm in free money

~24mm: Lonzo
~12mm: Portis
Offer the final 12 to Lauri and if he doesn't take it, then Doug McBuckets is our man.

PG: Lonzo/White/Tre
SG: Murray/Lonnie/Primo
SF: Keldon/Vassell
PF: Portis/McBuckets or Lauri/Luka
C: Poetl/Eubanks

Hollinger's formula for TheAthletic pegs Duncan Robinson at a 23mm/year player. DeMar at a 16mm/year player.

We are totally going to end up with George Hill, CoJo and Lauri.
Enzo The Baker

Probably so. Actually if we could get CoJo on the minimum it wouldn't be bad. He could take Primo under his wing. They already have a relationship.

I'd be stunned if the Spurs went after Dinwiddie/Lonzo/Schroeder

All fill our most important need, so agree.

Lonzo makes the most sense. He's under 24, he plays great defense, can defend 1,2,3, hit 38% of his threes last two seasons, is an excellent passer.

Scroeder is somehow even more of a headcase than Lonzo. But he can play D, hit 3s, and create plays. Also turned down 4y80mm from the Lakers.

Dinwiddie lives in SA with his baby mama. He can't shoot 3s, but put up 21/7 in the bubble year. Also a fellow Colorado Buff with Derrick White. With the partial ACL tear this year, he will probably go under market.

All make too much sense for the Spurs to use less than half their cap space on them. Would hate to clear cap space to fill our biggest need.

According to Marx Stein Lauri Markkenen is our no1 target and the Heat are still exploring S&T scenarios for Demar. Not sure who for since he also says the Heat are likely to retain/resign Robinson and Herro.

On one hand I don't want the heats scrubs but getting something back for Demar has to be priority and not losing him for ****all

I don't know much about Dinwiddie. But I'm almost 100% positive that Ball and Schroeder just wouldn't be considered because of non-basketball reasons. After Kawhi and the Marcus Morris fiasco... there's been an obvious double-down on prioritizing high character, LOW MAINTENANCE players. With Ball I think he's technically fine but his dad ruins his rep. I just don't think you can bring in a guy like that and pay him more than all the current players.

With PATFO, it's always going to be about culture fits. Look at the interview both recent draftees have given. But that said, when was the last time Lonzo's dad was in the news?? I feel like he's piped down since Alonzo left the Lakers and Lamelo was drafted. Could be wrong or not paying attention though

Lonzo also split with his dad. LaMelo signed a 100mm Puma deal. LeVar isn't acting like he did 4 years ago.

Agree on high character guys after Kawhi/Morris. That certainly seems the direction the team is going.

But we can have some nice guys that finish 8th or try to improve the team.

Having the most cap space in the league and ending up with Lauri/CoJo/Georgie and not even pursuing the top guys would be a traveshamockery.

Doesn't that cap number assume that all our FAs are renounced?

That seems unrealistic to not sign any of those guys.

We are bringing back Diop, but it's a minor contract. I think the max we could have is 52mm, but using a 48mm range instead. Dieng may come back on min contract, too, but that doesn't really hurt

Wrong Collins.

Okay. Windy just said on the FA special that the Spurs turned down a sign and trade with DeMar for Iggy because the Spurs said they have a better deal out there.

He also mentioned that the Bulls could look to pull off a double sign and trade for Lonzo and DeMar with Lauri going to the Spurs.

I really wanted Iguodala 5-7 years ago. He's still be a great veteran to have, but not until they procure a legit starting lineup.

Z Collins can't even be a top 10 choice at PF at this point. He's played 11 games in 2 seasons.

Lauri
Richaun Holmes
Jarrett Allen

Markannen per 36 has more points, rebounds, and blocks. Murray has more assists and steals. Markannen shoots a higher percent from three and from the field, and commits fewer fouls and turnovers. Neither one is very good on advanced stats. Murray is the better defender.

I'm not really up on the trade market, but they both look like high end role players to me. If you need a backcourt defender and regular season ball handler, you take Murray. If you need a shooter who can pull shot blockers out of the paint, Markannen is a better fit.

You've only played 11 fewer games the last two seasons than Zach Collins!

Collins was showing a lot of promise pre-injury. He could be a low-risk, high-return type of player.

4y/80mm for Lonzo speculated here.

That's great, but we still need a starting PG and PF. I'm all about Collins being the #3 FA we take if we use the bulk of our money on Portis+Lonzo or Portis+Graham or something.

30 mins until the floodgates open. The league is apparently taking tampering seriously year.
