Or Trae.

From Windy
Quote:

The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly under a mandate from ownership to get under the luxury tax and have been active in trade talks. The Hawks are not expected to entertain a trade of Trae Young, but Dejounte Murray could be available. "One guy I haven't heard in trade rumors is Trae Young," said Brian Windhorst. on the Hoop Collective livestream during the draft. "What about Dejounte Murray?" asked Kevin Pelton. "One guy I haven't heard in trade rumors is Trae Young," replied Windhorst after clearing his throat.

What is BW's infatuation with 2nd rounders?

They better be far out because I can't make sense of this at all.

The only thing I can think of is we need roster spots. But this draft is deep and there are multiple guys that project high available.
We have 11 guaranteed guys before we do anything with Tre, KBD, etc.

Yea that's probably it. Blew our load last year.

I would normally think they're just playing the long game here but it doesn't make sense in this case. Waste in a deep draft.

But still, take Nnaji and stick him in Austin for two years.

Any chance they have a potential deal for a player and need more draft comp to send out?

Definitely don't need two future second round draft picks. We have like 25 of those already.

Assume we will trade 44 for the same reason? If not I'll be pissed.

Charlotte traded #34 and #39 to Boston for #31 to get my guy Nnaji. So Nnaji is never going to be as good as Ian Mahinmi.

And Minnesota gets Leonard Murray, who a lot of people had in the teens.

Oh well. We have Wemby and the same amount of assets as we did to start the night. I'll take it.

I love Maxwell Lewis. Spurs should use some draft capital and make a play for him.

Bulls trade up to get Julian Phillips.

I would take Maxwell Lewis, too.

Or we could have just drafted him at 33 lol.

I'm betting they had someone in mind and he wasn't there. So they move 33 and get two future seconds. I'm sure they have someone they like that they think will be there at 44, so rather than just picking that guy at 33, they get a couple extra assets out of it.

Guessing Sasser. He was taken at 25 and then we traded this around 28th.

He would have been a really nice addition if we could have gotten him at 33.
