As much as I love you jackals, i do find myself enjoying the game more when I'm just watching it ebb and flow than F5ing to see what fresh hot takes are here.

For sure. Any time you feel the urge, just save yourself time and go "refs refs bs refs bs rigged refs refs"

Throw in a Gobert joke every couple minutes, and you're 100% covered.

Sadly I couldn't watch the game live. But reading through the thread it amazes how dumb game threads are. I wish we'd separate them. I swear so many fans have no clue how a typical basketball game goes. Just watch and see what happens, no singular play makes or breaks your life.

Are you the same one that was trying to dictate what we could talk about during the regular season, too? So, we're not allowed to talk about the Spurs in a Spurs thread. We have to react a certain way. We have to be Spurs fans for so long. We have to have a certain level of basketball knowledge.

What other requirements are there for us to be allowed to post here? Is there a height requirement? Should we have played basketball for so long?

If you don't like what's discussed then skip those posts or don't post here at all.

Maybe, Ive been accused of being some sort of snob on here. Maybe I am. Who knows. I know for sure that I love watching my teams play and I find game threads to be brutal and I avoid them universally. The problem here is the season thread is used as a game thread so I cant avoid it.

I have an idea. Have an opinion during the game and keep it to yourself until you see how it actually plays out. Post game analysis is fine and can be fun or good way to vent. Venting during a game is just stupid.

This game is a perfect example. We won by 29. Why the hell were you so upset?

Gotta ***** about Mitch not knowing what he is doing, how our challenges are awful, and Fox sucks.

I think it is reasonable if not expected to not like a play we ran, how we executed during a run, a bone headed play, or a call, but also be very happy with how the team played.

WCF starts Monday 5/18 if we close it out on Friday or Wednesday 5/20 if we close it out on Sunday.

Yeah, I know some of those guys will be there but I've stated before, I'm not sold on Peat or Cenac. I would be ok with Lopez or Quaintance but honestly, I also like the idea of Carr if there isn't a big man that they like. Soup has also sold me on Swain.

I also think that there are a couple of PF types that will be available in the 2nd round that could be pretty good.

I very rarely come here during games for this very reason. Everyone has their own thing and I just like to stay positive no matter what. I don't like to hear negativity. That's just me. I know some of you have to vent out loud or here and that's fine for you. That's not me, so I stay away.

Go Spurs Go!

Swain came in WAY smaller at the combine than expected. He was listed at 6'8 225 but came in at 6'6 210. Smaller than Carter Bryant.

Also his athletic numbers weren't as good as expected so he has dropped a bit. I think he will be a good defender and will have more on ball juice than Bryant on offense. But he is going to be a worse defender than Bryant and similar to Keldon on offense with some decent indicators of a positive shooter. But at 6'6.5 210, I don't think he can bulk on to be a PF like when we took the lying sips at their word that he as 6'8 225.

Lopez: 6'8.25 and 221 looks good. Great vertical, great shuttle run. How his measurables compare as a PF and SF:

I may bump him up over Swain now.

Cenac has all the elite measurables, but I think I like Lopez/Swain's motor more.

Peat.

Jefferson: not an athlete:

Graves: not an athlete and way undersized.

Carr is the guy I had brought up as a Devin Starter kit, but better shooter. Elite wingspan and athletic measurables, but a bit small. The idea is you trade Devin for forward help when Carr is ready to take over .

JQ still recovering from the injuries, but has good size for PF.

OK that's one of the coolest things I've seen recently!

Both of those were absolute STATEMENT dunks. Harper's was more of a slamming the door and Ginobili's was an opening of the floodgates.

I remember thinking how awesome it would have been if Manu could have balled out and been series MVP...didn't happen, but he made some monster plays during the San Antonio "Avalanche" that buried Miami.

I would absolutely welcome Harper turning into 2005 long haired Manu. That finals run was so fun to watch.

My #35 first choice.

Probably a better shot blocker and a really good shooter, but not physical:

He would be my first choice at #35, but I think he is staying in college basketball:

Zuby is also on the list, but is undersized as well:

The NBA isn't ready for a Manu clone wearing Silver & Black. There would be riots in the streets, cities would fall, and women country wide would be gobbling churros and pissing off Charles Barkley

I think Swain has to be off our board at that size. The "need" we're trying to fill is a guy who is big enough to guard KAT, Randle or Jokic but also athletic enough and skilled enough to not clog the floor so he can play alongside Wemby and take some of the physical burden off of Wemby to have to bang down low. Sochan would have been that guy if only he could shoot at all.

Swain is redundant with some of the parts we already have.

Morez, Cenac, Karim all seem to have some of the traits that you'd like. Peat is probably more like Sochan, but maybe he could develop a jumper.
Guitarsoup

Yeah, Swain is smaller and less athletic than Bryant. Just doesn't work for our needs.

I don't really have any confidence Peat would develop a shot. 62% from the line. Maybe he becomes thicc Jaime Jaquez? Short D&3 PF like Grant Williams, but only if he learns a corner three?

I think Morez, Yaxel, Steinbach have to be at the top, then probably Lopez and Cenac.

Then I think that Quaintance with the high risk, high reward archetype needs to be above Peat and Swain, too.

There are so many good guards and wings, I think one of those drops to us.

It was a tie game at 61-61 with plenty of bad play and terrible decisions to complain about up to that point.

Let's not pretend the final score is indicative of total dominance.

As long as we dont pretend that total dominance throughout the game is what we should be expecting (or demanding).

If I'm Peat I'm staying in the draft unless there is a chance he slips entirely out of the 1st round. There is no chance that he magically becomes a capable shooter next year, maybe if you give him a few years, but then he's an older prospect like Yaxel and his top end is being drafted like 10th.

On the other hand, worst case for him is that he doesn't improve as a shooter after going back to Arizona and now he falls entirely off the NBA radar.

Also I think it's a big advantage for guys like Peat to get drafted by good teams in the back half of the 1st round that can be patient with his development and deliberate in how they deploy him.

It's a bit bizarre watching our Spurs making a run with the next generation of super stars... And then you have Cleveland 1 game away from the conference finals led by James friggin Harden.
