One thing I keep having to remind myself while looking at possible trades and picks is that we could do absolutely nothing to our roster this off-season and still compete for a championship next year.

One thing that encourages me on JQ is that our staff has to have learned a lot about keeping knees and feet healthy working with Wemby.

But, to me, this is all the more reason to go 'all in' while this group is (relatively) inexpensive.
4yr/$60M is what Julian’s camp is looking for, so let’s see if the Spurs find a median or pay him that $15M per year 💯

Just in: The Detroit Pistons are trading C/F Isaiah Stewart to the Memphis Grizzlies for three future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Pistons clear Stewart's salary and pick up assets while Grizzlies acquire a 25-year-old as a rugged frontcourt piece. pic.twitter.com/V8zbaI5OXr

Pre-Draft Analysis
Strengths: Gillespie offers some microwave scoring ability from deep and is a pest defensively for his size.
Weaknesses: He's more of a scorer than a distributor, and lacks ideal size for his position. He can frequently be streaky and reliant on tough shots to make his presence felt.
The verdict: After starting his college career at Belmont, Gillespie had good years at Maryland and Tennessee while playing his way into the NBA picture. He profiles as a potential bench option if his scoring ability can outweigh his size concerns. -- Woo

Pre-Draft Analysis
Strengths: Brown is an agile and versatile defensive big who can switch onto the perimeter and has good instincts around the ball. He's efficient in finishing the opportunities he gets in the paint.
Weaknesses: He is often a nonfactor as a scorer, lacking a reliable jumper or the ability to create for himself. What you see on that end is what you get.
The verdict: Brown's defense made him quite valuable at Duke, but he will need to expand his offensive game in some fashion to have a chance of sticking long term in the NBA. -- Woo

These two 2nd round picks will be nothing more than summer league and G league fillers...a sub 6ft PG and. 6'9 SF who shot 17% on 3s and 50% FT his senior year aren't sniffing any playing time this year.

Not a huge fan of the Gillespie pick, but we'll see. I love his defense, but not a big fan of undersized guards.

Julian is under contract for next year no matter what. Team option. Not sure why it's a big deal to sort that out this off-season before free agency even starts.
