Last 2 years mental mistakes have cost the Braves tremendously. Can't continually make stupid mental errors and advance at this level.
So far, neither Anderson or Matzek have been good. And this ump isn't calling anything a strike unless it catches the entire plate.
Last year Ozuna pimped a homerun that wound up being a single. I think next batter hit into a DP.
So far this series they've had a guy leave 3rd early, a guy safe at first base but he assumed he was out so came off the bag, and 2nd/3rd nobody out winding up with a double play.
Runner1 gets thrown out at home but Runner2 advances to 3rd -- 1 out, 1st and 3rd has a 63% chance of scoring 1 or more runs in the inning.
Instead with nobody on, 2 out -- 6.5% chance of scoring 1 or more runs in the inning.
You just can't make mistakes like that at this level.

This is getting frustrating. Every Dodger at bat is a grind, but our batters are barely putting up a fight. Somebody needs to step up.
I dont like the idea of putting Smith in.
Yeah, Smith has been shaky this series. But they're running out of arms down there.

Good ol' Smoltzie, I could listen to him call games forever. I guess I'm just a natural Braves fan, I love the pitching. Smoltz has a unique way of opening up the viewer to the intricacies of the pitchers side of the game.

Braves signed Drew Smyly one year 11 mil. I like one year deals and AA has been good with them, but this is more than what I would have expected.

Went back to look at his stats/consistency. From 1957 to 1973, he hit under 30 HR just twice (1964 and 1968). He played no less than 120 games in that spot. Oddly enough, his highest HR total in a year (47) was done in 139 games. His last 40 HR year was in 120 games.

If you take away his 755 HRs, he still had over 3000 hits. I was surprised to read that. He also walked more than he struck out.
