Florida State's head coach just retired. More competition for a head coach.

I get that the Creighton and South Dakota coaches have been very impressive so far, but they play a different style of ball up there than we have in the past. I get that if they're great coaches they would be able to adapt, but I assume Ross is looking for someone that could come in and win with what we have.

I'm hoping the right coach brings in athletes with them like Kim did at LSU

Well she stole Alexis from us for one, she had a few good starters and then she used the portal. Alexis was a huge key to her success this season. It takes one or two stars to improve a team.

The other 4 starters were already at LSU. Alexis was the only new starter..
Mulkey just a better coach than the coach she replaced.

Wasn't hard for Mulkey to get Alexis...she was used to moving to a new team every year
and GB did not play her enough to keep her.

With this we agree. Mulkey is probably one of the best coaches in the nation. They will win multiple national championships with her there.

Been there done that. Dismal turnout in attendance. Fans competing with MBB, softball, baseball, etc. Top 16 seeds generally will draw well. @debbieantonelli has a great idea of a destination where fans vacation anyway. (I’m down for that. At least until I’m a top 16 seed 😉)

Maybe so he can say they interviewed everyone and kept coming back to kbw as the best candidate for the job? Idk. Seems dumb to me but this is the second time on Twitter there has been a hint in that direction. I do agree though. Dumb that it hasn't been announced if it is her.

The program is a dumpster fire right now. After jimbo, buzz & schloss, Hiring an A&M assistant would be an underwhelming hire! What's the saying, Go big or go home?

looking at his bio he's been there for 20 years and is their all time winning coach. would be really hard to pull.

need for the horns to lose to ohio state so we can at least get some clarity on vic even though i feel like it's almost an impossible pull.

Texas A&M has a history of under paying then under hiring then under managing. The handling of the golf coach was the first time I sat up and thought "that might be indicative of real changes."

I don't care if they iterate on hires, but not having a strategy and a story arc for each sport seems lackluster. I realize they can't play the whole hand in front of us. So I'm patient your see. I have to believe the progress Gary made won't be sacrificed.

And in spite of continuous claims here he was washed up and it went down hill, that really wasn't true. 2011 was based on an unusual break out in an unexpected way, but every team that reaches the S16 is poised to play in the E8, F4, and championship games just like we did in 2011.

agree that's who we've been in the past but i dont know if that's who we are right now (bird kuhn not withstanding). i think we've been doing a pretty solid job of hiring folks.

to your point though...we do have a more recent history of letting folks languish for a while before we get rid of them-childress and jo evans kinda come to mind.

i think we'll make a good hire for this spot. just dont know who it will be.

I can not go on too much because of implications, but it's from someone VERY close to the situation that made it seem as if nobody on staff is guaranteed a position next year, meaning it more than likely won't be KBW.

OMG, that would be monumental! But do you really think he would leave the powerhouse he's building? My concern is that he's got the Horns off to such a great start in his first two years. He's already had recruiting success and it is only going to get better as a result. Would he leave that for a total rebuild?
