It doesn't matter what day or tournament it is. Seems like every time you see him on the golf channel he is crying about LIV. I've started changing the channel when he is on there talking.

Once you start talking about who is funding the LIV and how oppressive they are you just show how much of a dumb ass you are. Maybe someone should ask him about Americas ties to this same regime? Effing imbecile

Or LPGA's ties to Saudi as well.

Or PGAT'S and China. It's all propaganda.

No stupid team nonsense and they all finished on 18. Thought it was great tournament.

The old Koepka is definitely back. I'm guessing he's got to be the favorite for the US Open next month.

LIV golf with a strong showing!

Hopefully that shuts up the PGAT about WG points. These major results for LIV have blown that argument up.

LIV tournaments can be a joke and the best LIV players can contend in majors. Both are true.

This right here.

It's going to be a VERY interesting few months for professional golf. We are rapidly approaching a decision needing to be made on whether LIV guys can make the Ryder Cup team. If they put Koepka and/or others on the team, the PGA tour as we know it is finished. If you can play in the majors, make the Ryder Cup team, and make $20 million a year playing in the LIV hit and giggles, a lot more big names are going to jump.

I certainly don't think todays outcome legitimizes LIV. Just like Bennett competing at the Masters doesn't mean the PGA tour isn't better than college golf or Michael Block competing this weekend means PGA pros are as good as PGA tour players.

My fear is golf is rapidly heading to professional tennis where 4 tournaments a year matter.

I don't know enough about tennis history, but was it ever a situation where more than the majors were important?

I think the PGAT is embedded heavily enough with corporate America to make it very well insulated against your fears. Not to say it couldn't happen.

Today actually pisses me off more. I'm a PGAT fan. I have zero interest in watching a handful of pre-paid dudes play exhibition rounds. I want to watch the best compete against the best on historic venues in traditional tournaments. Over four rounds. With cuts. Yes, Koepka, Smith, DeChambeau and maybe even Reed are some of those best and they're wasted in those crap LIV events.

Yep. Not sure why it draws some of the fanboy excitement because this approach is flat out broken. Literally.

Not everyone thinks the same way or has the same opinions.

"Because we've always done it that way" is asinine.

Actually, it was done this way in other sports years ago and proven to be inferior. There's a reason there aren't two leagues in other major US sports. Been there. Done that. Inferior.

Maybe because Golf is a WORLD sport?
Has old Tom Morris forgot where he first played the game?
Baseball/football are American

You could also try watching those events. They're pretty good.

Professional team golf with completely unbalanced lineups is really dumb.
Golf tournaments potentially not ending on the 18th hole is also really dumb.

Today was a great finish to a really good golf tournament. Top players in the world. That's what we saw and hope to see again in less than a month.

Also, the Block story did more to grow the game than LIV has in 15 months.

No, you're missing the point.

Baseball/football/basketball are American made sports hence why the leagues in America are head and shoulders above other leagues throughout the world and why there is one prominent league for each one here in the states.

In regards to LIV golf, LIV isn't designed to be an American structured/based tour.

Don't tell them there is baseball leagues in other countries around the world or about the World Baseball Classic.

It's almost like soccer should only have the premier league.

Don't tell the PGAT. They'll probably try to ban him too.

Would be awesome if Brooks bailed like he wanted to earlier this year. I appreciate that he's not a LIV fan boy. He wouldn't leave though, he's got to protect his brother's large checks for T-39 finishes.

In the first 2 majors, LIV had 3 in the top 4 at the Masters and 3 in the top 10 including the winner in the PGA. They deserve a place at the table in the majors but hard to give ranking points to LIV because they play different than the other tours. So maybe give LIV 15 slots at each major next year and let them come up with their own ranking system to determine who is represented. Then how they perform in the individual majors determines how many they get the next years. Spitballing ideas.
AgLA06

I believe they had 5 of the top 20 with only 16 total entrants.

I looked it up.

156 players in the tournament
16 players for LIV (10% of the field)

76 players made the cut for the tournament
11 LIV made the cut (14.5%)

LIV had 5 of the top 18 (27.8%)
LIV had 6 of the top 30 (20%)
LIV had 7 of the top 50 (14%)
LIV had 10 of the top 60 (16.7%)

Whoever was arguing that the LIV didn't perform above their ratio of players compared to the PGAT wasn't correct.

Majestics, with 3 captains, probably have a good plan for the next 54 hole outing. Maybe they pay for the bubba drive?

Selection for the US Ryder Cup team is going to be pretty interesting. Faxon seems like he's okay with LIV guys making the team. Chamblee might just commit hari-kari live on Golf Channel if it happens.
AgLA06
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I looked up the Masters.

88 players made the field
LIV had 18 players (20.4%)

53 players made the cut
LIV had 12 players make the cut (22.6%)
(Louis Oosthuizen & Kevin Na withdrew so not sure how that should be factored)

LIV had 12 of the top 50 (24%)
LIV had 8 of the top 40 (20%)
LIV had 5 of the top 30 (16.7%)
LIV had 4 of the top 16 (25%)
LIV also had 3 in the top 4

If your argument is for the good of the game, it sure seems difficult to say stopping LIV from getting points gets you the best competition for the majors. Especially since outside of Brooks, their top half performers have been mostly different each major indicating their talent is deep just like the PGAT.

PGA hyping up Michael Block so much to try and change the narrative that Brooks won.

I mean, I get it and thinks it's a cool story but at least don't make it so obvious.

Their option is a non PGAT member or the runner up who is about the dullest person on the tour.

This was pretty much a nightmare result for them considering all the propaganda since the LIV was announced.
