Is tech's #19 rpi high enough to host in the 8-10 range?

Oregon & UCLA will both get slots for being West Coast, imo.
Clemson is out regardless of today's score

Committee will have to make some interesting decisions regarding quad 1 and top 25 vs bad losses

Duke, Stanford and Alabama all in the top 16 rpi. Likely 2 won't host to make room for Tech and Oregon. All 5 of those schools should be sweating tonight because each has resume problems

The more I look at Oregon the more I think they shouldn't get to host. Stanford has no home stadium so they can't host either

They won't be a national seed, which is why I said it would be a surprise pick.

They're kind of a wild card as to where they go. They have the million dollar arm and I have to believe they're going to host a regional and be paired with a team the committee feels will offer an intriguing matchup. Oklahoma makes a lot of sense, but I think the Sooners are going to be protected.

I think that's why they'll give A&M 1 and Oklahoma's consolation is tech will be 16

We were hosed last year by having to go to Texas for the SR. I don't see them hosing us twice especially with us being the 1 or 2 seed. My guess is they pair Tech with Texas.

I don't know. They did hose us last year, but in doing that, they also hosed Texas. In fact, Texas has been hosed a couple times in the last few years. They were passed over for a regional 3 years ago despite having an RPI solidly in the top 16.

Here is my best guess at what we will see tomorrow. If the article I read about Stanford not hosting this year is wrong replace them the Alabama spot

1 A&M 16 Duke
2 OU 15 Alabama
3 Florida St 14 Virginia Tech
4 Florida 13 Clemson
5 Arkansas 12 S Carolina
6 UCLA 11 Arizona
7 Texas 10 Texas Tech
8 Tenn 9 LSU

I am really not sure what to do with Stanford. They may very well get a 15 or 16 seed and get sent on the road. I think I would send them to Alabama as the 1.

I originally had UCLA - Arizona in the 7-10 slot and Texas-Tech in the 6-11

If seeds were to hold on side of the bracket would be all SEC. A&M, Florida, Arkansas, and Tenn. The other OU, FSU, UCLA, Texas

I chose Alabama with OU because A&M beat Bama and OU lost. Better story line at OU but still gives them a fairly simple path. Also gives OU an easier bracket in OKC

Tomorrow will interesting to watch how the committee views things. WIth OU sporting a 156 non conf SOS I suspect we won't hear about that stat this year.

I would prefer to swap places with OU and let them have the all SEC side of the bracket and face Pickens in game 1. Although I think LSU will beat Tennessee and they will not make the series again this year

I would love to see tu and tech match up. Tech's pitcher is a gem. I would watch every second of that series.

2 seeds are likely to be

Stanford*
Oregon
Ole Miss
Miss St
Ohio St
Nebraska
Virginia
OK St
Liberty
Cal
Georgia
San Diego St
S Florida
Grand Canyon
FAU
UCF

Who comes to College Station? I would guess whichever Florida school doesn't go to one of the Florida regionals but so many variables it could be any of them

There's no way they match sip with tard. I hope I'm wrong but just don't see it happening. They'll match up as many SEC teams as possible in the supers to avoid an all (or close to it) SEC World Series.

I have the max number of SEC vs SEC already included in the pairings.

Based on the current rankings, I find it hard to not see an all SEC tournament in the NCAA. I get that they won't, but geeeeeez this conference is stacked!!

Imagine if the committee sends UC Santa Barbara to the College Station regional!

I forgot Jo Evans coached there now

Outside of pairing us up with tech, this would be the most tournament committee" thing ever.

Never put anybody in a deserved slot. Just go with the storyline angle.

It would *uck for Stanford if the committee decides they cannot host because they are playing in a temp facility. It's not 'pretty' but it has worked for them.

I heard multiple times during the SEC Tournament coverage that Stanford will not be hosting.

I do not think they will host. We got screwed by the committee last year, look what we did this year. If Stanford does not host this year, next year they will 'use it' as inspiration, have a great year and get a top 8 seed and host in their new stadium. Sometimes the softball gods love payback!

Would I find interesting if the people who just can't bring themselves to have any positivity around softball.

Probably a lot of the people who put down softball have never been to a game. If they did they would learn to love it and might even start going to more softball games than baseball. It is interesting to me to watch the back and forth on softball/baseball threads. Some are positive, some are negative and some are just weird and funny!

Article in the Batt about the cancelled championship game included the following short video:

"While the Aggies spent their time waiting out the delay, they engaged in some fun warmup antics along with assistant coach Russ Heffley."

I think they have to go within driving distance if a regional is available. But that would be interesting as would sending them to Lubbock. I always liked Jo. In the end it was time to move on but I will still remember her fondly for the majority of her time as the coach here

Daily Oklahoma out their final bracket guess

They send Stanford to Oregon which is a good solution and seems more likely that Alabama getting a host slot

Jo gets a lot of ridiculous hate on here. She's a great person and I hope she does really well and retires in Santa Barbara after years of success there. She deserves it.

Yep, I always like Jo. I think one if her biggest mistakes was not recruiting Cali as hard as TX. Gasso has feasted on the best from both states and it worked for her. Ford having coached and recruited on that side helped her create a good blend of CA and TX talent.

It's already been a success story. 34 wins this season which ties our single season record. An NCAA bid in year three (we only had three previous bids all-time, and none since 2007). Jo's now 80-74 at UCSB which is the second highest winning percentage in program history.

Put it another way. Our previous coach Brie Galicinao was 72-162 her last five years with a 40 loss season and three 30+ loss seasons, and only covid stopped 2020 from being another disaster

Correct. I expect we'll be grouped with UCLA, SDSU and maybe Stanford in an all-CA regional. The NCAA committees like lumping all of us west coasters together (last year for baseball we hosted Fresno, USD and Oregon). I hate it, and would prefer to see opponents we don't play every year

This article was back in February. Her contract ends after the 2027 season but she envisions going beyond that. In fact - and this says everything about our "facilities" - she'd like to coach long enough to see permanent restrooms installed at UCSB. Safe to say she loves the grind

Jo also briefly talked about the differences between Isla Vista and College Station, of building a culture and building a powerhouse. I agree with posters here, it was time to part ways. Looks like all sides benefited
