Since the AD has indicated we will fund scholarships for all spots, I'd guess we don't go over 25. While potentially allowed under the amended House agreement (if/when it gets approved), I'm not sure the AD would want the additional scholarships on the books.

And it would be more than just one or two for softball. Plenty of other sports would want extra scholarships too. I believe swim/dive had to trim its roster to meet the roster limits. If you are going with what the judge wanted, swim/dive would need to bring those athletes back before gaming the roster limits elsewhere.

At 50k for one year, adding just a couple of headcount to each of 19 sports adds up quick.

I was about to say Tennessee's Ace pitcher Pickens improves to 5-0 against Ou & Sips…until that Ou walkoff HR.

Tennessee refused to walk the All-American at the plate despite 1st base being open, to not put the go-ahead run on 1st, but Tennessee's ace pitcher gets taken yard for the walkoff HR.

That pitch was way too close to the middle on an 0-1 count.

Similar to the tush push trying to be removed. Wonder if there's ever a push to move the WCWS.

Oh, 2nd base was open. I guess that further explains why she didn't want to walk her and move the tying run to 2nd base…even if an All-American HR slugger was at the plate who then hit a walkoff HR.

Its not like they have some slap in the 3 hole. And now you load the bases and allow that hitter to tie the game with any type of hit. Oh yeah, and you have the best pitcher in the country in the circle. It only looks bad looking back because of what happened. In the moment, it's foolish to give the tying runner 2nd base.

Is there a summary of our current recruiting for 2026? I see where LSU has picked up a pitcher but haven't seen any updates from Trisha. I figure there might be so eon this thread but haven't had time to read through 62 pages.

She carried Stanford on her back to the CWS semis twice so Cardinal fans must be a little salty that she's allowed to transfer without losing a year of her life, much less get paid an amount of NIL$ their fans are far too pretentious to even contemplate an athlete could be worth.

I'm up late watching Oregon vs UCLA. The obstruction of base path rule in softball seems to be a hell of a turning point in meaningful games. Pretty sure the Ags have been on both sides of that coin this season. I wonder if it gets reviewed at the end of the season? Amanda Scarborough made a good point in stating that players should be more aggressive on the basepath because the rule is such a wildcard. Wish we could ask Coach Ford!

You make good points.

The obstruction rule both complicates the calling of the game and supports players' safety. It is sometimes highly interpretive and the result can be controversial and game-changing.

The UCLA catcher clearly blocked the sliding runner's path to the plate, so the eventual call of safe appeared to be correct.

If the obstruction call is eliminated, we will see intentional collisions and more injuries because base runners will aggressively try to get to a base or prevent a double play.

I don't anticipate the NCAA will eliminate the rule, especially since off-site video replay from multiple angles is widely available to eliminate or minimize egregious umpiring mistakes.

I saw that yesterday and posted it. Outstanding stats and in a good conference. She is probably getting a ton of offers. I wonder how much she is asking? We will have three catchers next year and another one coming in the following year (after Gracyn graduates). This girl would make four. I wonder if our coaches have been thinking about her and have contacted her? We will find out!

I would think if we were to sign her out of the portal, we would see 1 or 2 transfer out.

It's already the case and our rival Sips are spending real money on softball players and pitchers. I'd welcome our leadership realizing softball needs real NIL money to get the best pitchers which are what win championships.
