The topic was blame and if Earley deserves to be fired. I dislike how the season went. I also know Schloss didn't win it all last year as a veteran coach with a better team.
I want to win and hope it happens regardless of the staff. I have no feelings on whether Earley is retained or fired. However, I do question those that blame him for everything even the accidental wins vs 3 top 5 teams.
Are you really comparing a team finishing #2 in Omaha to a team that isn't even going to make the playoffs? And both had similar levels of talent? That's hilarious

You are another one of those types that takes part of a conversation and creates an new argument.
No. I am comparing the the fact that people are literally crying like children to fire Earley because we severely underperformed, to the fact that many of those same people believe Schloss is the best coach we ever had or could have. However, he has been a coach for decades and has never won the title Those same fans expected first year coach Earley to win one this year.

Those same fans clamoring for the best coach possible will want that coach emfired should we make the WS final 5 years in a row and never win it. They will cry rivers about our HC not being the one to get us over the hump, that the big stage was too much for him, that he didnt know how to win the big one.
Those same fans will want a coach fired if we win 4 WS championships in a row but can't get out of regional the 5th year, because he lost it, he's washed up, he lost the team, he is just collecting a check.

That's fine, even in year one, but to those that whine like a sissy because we are down in the 4th, crying it's over all year mid game, grow a pair.

Hold your horses just a cotton pick'en minute. We got Joni in women's basketball and Coach G in women's soccer who we need to settle up with first. Joni & Coach G are doing their darndest to drive their respective programs into the ground as they walk out the door

Neither one of those are revenue positive sports. Baseball is. It's exponentially more financially damaging to the AD for baseball to be in the lurch than those two, especially when fundraising for an Olsen upgrade.

Kendall Rogers is the most well connected guy in college baseball. People always wonder who his sources are that get him the scoops... It is the coaches themselves. This is why you don't see him trashing coaches, ever. He will never bite the hand that feeds him. He values those relationships tremendously. I worked in college baseball and have been sitting in the room when Kendall texted an assistant asking if he was going to take a job that he had been offered earlier that morning. The college baseball world, while growing rapidly, is still small and well connected. Everyone talks. All of these coaches talk to each other. Administrators talk and administrators talk to their coaches. Word spreads.

Which is why I think his comments on this situation are very enlightening. He has basically said if A&M doesn't make the postseason there will be changes. I don't believe he would say that without having some knowledge. If you miss on something like that, you are potentially setting a bridge on fire. And he hasn't just said it once, he has hinted at in on numerous occasions.

That is kind of a stretch, man. College baseball is on a much lower scale than either football or basketball when it comes to revenue, and our softball and golf teams have arguably been featured on better ESPN programming than our baseball team has all year, so baseball this year can't even make the media dollars argument.

When making a CWS run, I'd argue that is when the revenue generation argument comes into play, because you're getting the media exposure to match the results on field

And there is the issue with our athletic department.

Even if they sneak into post season he should be gone.

If you cannot see how bad this team has been coached this year along with some head scratching in game decisions then we have the wrong people in decision making positions!

Baseball doesn't run a profit. Hope that helps.

And yet nothing he said after was wrong. Baseball is significantly more important to the fanbase than WBB or Soccer. I would bet our baseball team's NIL was 4x-5x higher than the WBB and soccer teams combined.

The only reason it does not make money is due to the lack of TV revenue payouts. I would bet that without that, basketball wouldn't either.

Okay, if it's not currently rev positive, it could be. You can't and will never say that about soccer or women's hoops.

Point remains, it's exponentially more expensive to the AD to have a massively red, low interest baseball program than either of those other sports.

Earley has been an assistant/head coach for 9 years. The question now is how many more years does Earley need to become a competent SEC head coach and how far will A&M drop while we wait?

Dude

He's gone.

I get why they tried him out given the timing last year.

Zero reason to not move on and make a solid hire in a good timeline.

You make the move today!!

Move the pitching coach who has head coaching experience to interim head coach.
Move Early to hitting coach.
Fire that aweful hire Early made as hitting coach.

Announce search for Head Coach.

Give the team some kind of spark that the "powers" that be want to win.

You made a seriously bad mistake so fix it now!!

Show that our athletic department has a sack!!!!!!

You want to fire Earley but keep him in the dugout!??

The season is over. No harm in letting Caleb draw a hitting coach paycheck for 8 more days. Certainly not as bad as firing Earley but making him the hitting coach.

Rev positive for baseball is not Relevant

Absent a BMA writing a check baseball revenue is never going to cover expenses
Revenue is pretty much fixed with season tickets sold out and a waiting list

How much money the program loses is about NIL and Coaches salary If we want to fire Earley we will lose more money
Talking about the programs finances is a bit of a red herring To Compete we will lose money
Sticking with Earley is cheaper than a New coach and replacing current roster would cost more and may or may not work

I'd give Earley a mulligan just because I am tired of money whipping coaches that don't pan out

Of course next year it's top half of the SEC or he's fired

10:30am and he is still the head coach.

Did you hear today's interview on TexAgs?

Gave them the day off? What to "reflect" on their play?

Should have them at the park and run, drills, run some more, situational baseball, run some more until they all puke their asses off!!!
No wonder we are a soft team that shows no competitive fire!!

When someone shows you who they are, believe them!

There are only so many hours a week that the coaches are allowed work directly with the team outside of games. Monday is the usual day off. Players can and often do work on things on their own.

you can't fire the guy and put him back in the dugout imo. I also understand why you'd want to fire him today, but they still have a week and the sec tourney to make noise. I just don't see the positive of taking away their coach and having them play worse. He needs to be gone when/ if we don't make it to the post season

Maybe, but remember schloss first year here where we filled our team with mostly transfers and went to Omaha. It is so much easier to get back into the mix especially in baseball due to transfers. Get a great coach, hit the portal, and you might have an Omaha ready team the following year
