This team is not winning another game this season.
Are you really comparing a team finishing #2 in Omaha to a team that isn't even going to make the playoffs? And both had similar levels of talent? That's hilariousLatinAggie1997 said:

The topic was blame and if Earley deserves to be fired. I dislike how the season went. I also know Schloss didn't win it all last year as a veteran coach with a better team.
I want to win and hope it happens regardless of the staff. I have no feelings on whether Earley is retained or fired. However, I do question those that blame him for everything even the accidental wins vs 3 top 5 teams.

Fire someone for severely underperforming, yes.LatinAggie1997 said:Disarmer said:Are you really comparing a team finishing #2 in Omaha to a team that isn't even going to make the playoffs? And both had similar levels of talent? That's hilariousLatinAggie1997 said:

You are another one of those types that takes part of a conversation and creates an new argument.
No. I am comparing the the fact that people are literally crying like children to fire Earley because we severely underperformed, to the fact that many of those same people believe Schloss is the best coach we ever had or could have. However, he has been a coach for decades and has never won the title Those same fans expected first year coach Earley to win one this year.
Those same fans clamoring for the best coach possible will want that coach emfired should we make the WS final 5 years in a row and never win it. They will cry rivers about our HC not being the one to get us over the hump, that the big stage was too much for him, that he didnt know how to win the big one.
Those same fans will want a coach fired if we win 4 WS championships in a row but can't get out of regional the 5th year, because he lost it, he's washed up, he lost the team, he is just collecting a

Then make it a package deal... adios Joni, G and Mike, and take Trev with you/Artimus Gordon said:
Hold your horses just a cotton pick'en minute. We got Joni in women's basketball and Coach G in women's soccer who we need to settle up with first. Joni & Coach G are doing their darndest to drive their respective programs into the ground as they walk out the door

Neither one of those are revenue positive sports. Baseball is. It's exponentially more financially damaging to the AD for baseball to be in the lurch than those two, especially when fundraising for an Olsen upgrade.
Baseball doesn't run a profit. Hope that helps.FTAG 2000 said:Artimus Gordon said:

Okay, if it's not currently rev positive, it could be. You can't and will never say that about soccer or women's hoops.
Point remains, it's exponentially more expensive to the AD to have a massively red, low interest baseball program than either of those other sports.
It's not, but it will make him feel better I guess.20ag07 said:
How do you think, at this point, that "running them til they puke" is gonna help anything?
There are only so many hours a week that the coaches are allowed work directly with the team outside of games. Monday is the usual day off. Players can and often do work on things on their own.Quote:
Gave them the day off? What to "reflect" on their play?
you can't fire the guy and put him back in the dugout imo. I also understand why you'd want to fire him today, but they still have a week and the sec tourney to make noise. I just don't see the positive of taking away their coach and having them play worse. He needs to be gone when/ if we don't make it to the post seasonGreat2BeAnAGGIE said:
You make the move today!!
Move the pitching coach who has head coaching experience to interim head coach.
Move Early to hitting coach.
Fire that aweful hire Early made as hitting coach.
Announce search for Head Coach.
Give the team some kind of spark that the "powers" that be want to win.
You made a seriously bad mistake so fix it now!!
Show that our athletic department has a sack!!!!!!

I think you are correct, but they may still have to give one off day per week.LB12Diamond said:
