regarding A&M and t.u. being paired (in some form or fashion) together...

since the Ags joined the SEC...

both A&M and t.u. have made the postseason in the same year 7 times:

2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2023, and 2024

2015 -- no -- A&M hosted; sips placed in DBU's regional which was paired with Miami's regional

2017 -- no -- A&M placed in UH regional; sips placed in Long Beach regional; Regionals were not paired

2018 -- yes -- A&M was the 3-seed in Austin regional

2022 -- no -- A&M and t.u. both hosted; Regionals were not paired; Met in Omaha -- which is okay

2023 -- yes -- A&M was the 2-seed at Stanford; t.u. was the 2-seed at Miami; Regionals were paired

2024 -- yes -- t.u. was the 3-seed in College Station

It's more of a thing where we always get paired in softball, 2nd round of March madness, etc

I'm just honestly shocked they never did it in a bowl game when we were both going 7-5 or 8-4 in the 2014-2020 era

I'm very aware of that. I'm also very aware of how bad the selection committee can be.

Would rather go to Austin than Gainsville or Auburn for a SR.

Agree. But I got a feeling we will still be a top 8 seed. We shall see.

Didn't see this posted that Ags RPI is up 1 to 13 after USM loss. UF is 11.

Kansas (42-16) will be an interesting case for the committee

won the Big 12 regular season and tournament championships plus 2 midweek wins vs. Nebraska

suffered an ugly home sweep to WVU, but beat the Mountaineers tonight

DSR at #11

is the #10 or #11 seed in range?

Oregon beats Nebraska and will face UCLA in the title game

State may be hitting the road for regional play

Kendall Rogers updated his projections. We're sitting at 10, paired with Bama. UTSA and Cincy are the 2/3. He also stated that he can see how Bama being left out and us sneaking in the top 8 would be the only surprise he sees happening. Very volatile. UF is gonna be in.
I would take 10 paired with Bama. Makes more sense than sending us back to Gainesville, and I'd be just fine with not seeing Auburn again (although I'd rather make the trip to Auburn so that I could check off one of my three remaining SEC parks).

This would be the first time in decades of watching Aggie baseball that the committee would give so much weight to the conference tourneys. And it is not just us. Sips and Auburn changed places.

I agree. I think the talking heads are just trying to drive up eyeballs.

I'm guessing because there is more parity in the SEC this year. A lot of teams clumped together for a few seeding spots.
.

With the two extra teams now conference play is 10/15 instead 10/13 which makes comparing conference standings less meaningful

This year the were four teams ( Ags, Auburn, Bama, tu ) clumped from 2-5 that before the tourney you could make an argument to put them in any order
And 3 teams that were not that far behind (State Pig & Gator)

A&M Bama and tu had the worst tourney and probably fell a few spots Bama and tu Metrics are better and likely were ahead of us and stayed ahead of us

State got a win ( against Mizzou ) and didn't change their situation significantly state

Auburn , Pig , Gator all significantly improved their situation

State is still behind us and hopefully so is pig or gator or both

My wildly uninformed guess is we are the 7 th and lowest seeded SEC host at 13
Of course it could be my BAS flaring up

Edit this is from memory and I could be confused

Wow, the media has even twisted your brain!

Or your BAS is so bad you dream up stuff to make you miserable.

In the process of checking the bye situation has me all kinds of confused and I don't really follow the other games closely
I will fix that

Arkansas will be lower than us, even if they win today. State will not pass us either, and likely won't host.

Auburn, sips, Georgia, guaranteed to be ahead of us.

Alabama probably ahead of us (I still dont know why, but thats what is being said so I'll go with it).

UF neck and neck with us.

I really dont see any way we slip down as far as the 13 seed. I say 11 is the floor.

If there are 6 teams in front of us I can see the committee moving us down to the 13 range just to inflate the other conferences reputation

The committee might not want 7 of the top 11 seeds being SEC
I hope you are correct ( you probably are ) that even with a pig loss they stay behind

The Ags went have not finished as strong as we would have liked and the teams we needed to lose have been winning
Looks like we are in the 10-14 area unlikely yo be a "national seed" and a lot closer to be a 2 seed then we though possible after we found a way to win the MSU series

The Pigs ain't going from 4 spots out of the 16 seed to above a team that has an RPI 8 spots better and finished 3rd in the conference vs 7th. Yes, they're playing well but their ceiling is likely 14/15 seed.

DSR this morning:

#7 A&M
#8 Florida
#9 Kansas
#10 West Virginia
#11 FSU
#12 State
#13 Arkansas

#15 Alabama
#18 Oregon
#20 Nebraska

it's getting messy with the Big 12 schools moving into the top 10. Bama down at #15. And Nebraska at #20

so Mississippi State is...

#12 RPI
#12 DSR
#11 KPI

with 18-15 mark vs. SEC competition

plus non-conference wins over Southern Miss, Troy, Arizona State, and Virginia Tech...and might not host

maybe Nebraska will be the odd team out

I'm talking about the more extreme ones that are saying the season is over, we have no hope, and everybody should be fired.

And yes, I think some of them are not actually fans. They want us to lose so they can claim to have been right all along about Earley, Gavin, or whoever they are trashing. I'm sure you know of a poster or two that describes

There are a number of folks on the forum that i don't agree with. There are a number of them I don't agree with consistently. I don't call them pumpers or bleeders. Nobody on here wants the Ags to fail. Get on board and cheer them on regardless of whether you post positively or negatively.

You're taking this Internet forum thing too seriously if you think someone would want to see their team fail so they can be right on here.

Wondering if the selection committee knows or cares about a team's injuries and over all
health going into the seeding of the 8 national seeds and the overall seeding? If a consideration,
which way do they look at it? Hurt a team's seeding or not?

As an example, we are close with UF for a top 8 seed and won the H2H early in the SEC schedule
at UF. UF has gotten better toward end of the SEC schedule, Our Ags have been injured and have not looked
as good the last 3 weeks or so.

They will look at injuries. They dropped us down the year Stilson got hurt.
