4 UNC V 13 USM hard to get a good story line with UNC or USM

5 Auburn V 12 Bama
Trying to minimize An all SEC CWS and a in-state rivalry hate and Bamas metrics are comparable to the Ags

6 tu V 11 Ags same as above

7 KU V 10 Nebraska

8 UF V 9 FSU

I think the committee will do what is always does

Move some SEC teams down so they aren't 5/8 of the national seeds

Try to create some regional matchups to drive engagement

Over seed the BDF champion

Have at least 2 SEC V SEC regional to lower SEC numbers in Omaha

Coach confirmed we'll play game 1. Given the weather and our pitching situation this is a no-brainer. Although ironically we faired pretty well in double-headers this year.

Michael Earley tells @TexAgsLive that Texas A&M will play Game 1 of the 2026 College Station Regional on Friday afternoon.

Opponent and game time will be announced later today.

Lots of smoke that we're 10 v Bama at 8, but hard to tell if this is just confirmation bias and re-reporting of D1 projections or something else.

I don't think we're top 8. I think we'll be in the 9-11 range. I would definitely take the pairing with Bama right now if offered.

That seems a little too contrived as to the storylines in 5-12 across the board. I put the over under for those particular matchups at 1 (Florida v FSU seems most likely) but I would bet the under.

It is definitely extremely contrived but it's time for the college sports to embrace the future

Arkansas was on the host bubble, which means if they would've hosted they'd have had one of the best two seeds in their regional. They just flipped with whoever you thought would be the 2 seed in their regional, except now they're on the road.

I meant regionals, my bad. So your top 2 seeds in the ACC/SEC won't be able to be paired with their conference mates. That means more of them paired with Sun Belt and Big12 types. So they could have an easier run. That was my point which I F'd up by typing Supers instead of regionals.

Welp, I had too much faith in the committee to factor in head to head results. Let's see where the Ags fall…still don't think it'll be below 10.

A&M was done wrong by the committee.

This is the only thing that I can think of. I'm perplexed that a team like Oregon was ahead of A&M

I don't understand Oregon ahead of us, but doesn't really matter. tu and UNC are both good teams

Regional seems manageable. USC really struggled against good teams.

yes, Florida, Southern Miss, and Florida State were all seeded higher than the Ags

Does the committee know that? We haven't seen Nico and Sims in weeks and Haco has been relegated to DH. Nobody is calling up Earley and asking his opinion on those guys to help determine the seed.

Also our pitching just isn't good. So a 12 seed is fine. Time to go prove we belong.

Do we have the highest rated 2 seed? I thought they were seeding them 1-32 this year? Shouldn't the 16 seed have the hardest 2seed?

Confirms my 2 gut reactions from earlier:

1. Lawrence is the most difficult regional.
2. UNC really, really, really got screwed.

No, I think Arkansas, UT, Oregon St, Ole Miss, and Wake are all at least as good. Of course 3 of those couldn't be sent to Olsen.

They do have one of the (4) hardest by the committee's rankings, not RPI. No one thinks USC is the 9th best team but the tweet is just looking at RPI.

I am going to have to disagree with you there. UNC has lost a single series all year long, and it was back in early March. They're the only team to have a series win over GT. They pitch well (10th in ERA), field well (9th in FLD%), get on base (20th in OBP), and score well (12th in Runs). I prefer both tu or Bama over them.

ACC < SEC. Also, less likely to get screwed by the plate ump.

UNC is far from a soft touch. However, they do have a competitive regional, so there's always the chance we could get lucky and end up facing a lower seeded team, as happened the last time our road to Omaha was designed to run through Chapel Hill.

Before the Davidson upset, I don't think we ever caught a break in postseason play when it came to matchups.

Not only should UNC be upset they got matched up with us as the 12, but you're right, they got a damn good regional.
