She's not a catcher. I believe they said she's never played catcher but was moved there this season bc we didn't have anyone.
Anyone notice Munnerlyn just stood on the mound on the pop up for the 2nd out instead of backing up the plate for the throw coming home? AK blocked it and it got away a bit but we got lucky it didn't get farther away because Munnerlyn wasn't doing her job.

The dumbass obstruction rules dont allow the game to be played properly. She cannot just post up on the plate and make the runner come to her.
I dont think that was the problem at all, that was just not a great play. The throw beat her by at least 10 feet, she just completely missed the runner, somehow. the moves to avoid the tag were pretty good, though.

To me that throw wasn't even necessary. The runner wasn't going. You run that ball in until she takes off.

AK played a lot of catcher through high school. She played 3rd at Florida as a freshman. We tried to make her an outfielder to get Sauni's bat in the lineup but she is too slow to play out there effectively. She will either C or play 3rd next year.

wow...relax maybe? I just said she's missed two makeable tags. that's not really giving her a hard time. I've said nothing about her performance all year. Saying she's not aggressive enough was not meant to be a general statement. I was speaking about the two missed tags.
Damn. I wish they would have held out for a pitching change. Mya is definitely on a slump and overdue for a good hit. Sending 12th man magic right now.
