Yes. But that would certainly lead to an extra base by the trail runners. Softball is so quick that a next play mindset has to be coached. They are taught to set up in front of the plate to avoid obstruction and then apply (swipe) a quick tag and look for the next play.
We are pulling off the ball something fierce at the top of the lineup.

Honestly, a pinch hit for her next AB might be warranted. I've never seen her confidence so diminished.

I don't agree she messed up on the tag for one. The girl made a heck of a crazy athletic move to avoid the tag.
And my point about her playing solid all season and helping out this team does mean she should get some respect.
You are pretty sensitive for someone that has no issues going after a player. Not surprising.

She is 0-5 in the last two games. Objectively speaking, anyone else would probably be subbed. It's not meant to be any dig her, but when you're down like this, sometimes it's worth a shot to go to the bench.
You have to give ASU credit, they are good. They can beat cow.

I didn't think AK did anything wrong at all in really time. I thought the girl was out but she obviously made a great slide that my eyes were too slow to catch.
The biggest issue was Munnerlyn not realizing the situation and stepping toward 1st base after fielding the comebacker. She should have immediately looked to the runner on 3rd who stupidly was already coming home.
If Munnerlyn does her job, AK tags her out standing up and the runner looks like a fool for going on a ball hit back to the pitcher.
But so goes our entire defense this regional.

Whoever the radio announcer is seems to agree with Ford -- doesn't place much blame on us, just a lot of things not going our way. Not sure how much of a homer he is?
We've gotta be more disciplined at the plate with Brown. They're just guessing at everything. Glad our bottom of the lineup is still showing fight, though!
