I think they should too, but that's not really the point. There's nothing saying that Oklahoma wouldn't have done this at the top of the inning. Georgia Tech didn't hit well the last two innings.

While you are right, the host team being the home team would have the opportunity to come to the plate to try and win as the home team rather than be walked off.

It sure makes it exciting. It would be boring at the same damn teams won all the time. I sure hope we win tonight and we get to keep playing, but it's fun watching all these games especially decided right at the end.

and sometimes I take joy in it from the media perspective. Some of them have their favorites and it's very obvious and when some of them don't make it, it's kind of enjoyable for the rest of us.

Understood but it doesn't mean they would have. Again, I'm agreeing in principle, but that's not why they lost this game. They didn't even get a run since the sixth inning. We can all agree to disagree.

I have no problem with Kansas wins, but I have family members from they graduated from OU, so I don't hate them like other people. Sorry, not sorry.

I'm not at all saying they would have won. I just think it's absolutely stupid that the host team and thus 1 seed is not always the home team. There should be an advantage to getting to host beyond familiarity.

I just tuned in about the seventh inning so that sounds about right. They had a decent lead with only about three left. I don't know how many pitchers they had or changes. I don't know what have been going on before, but I think they were about four runs down then.

Last comment -- I did not insinuate any such thing! Your inference, and your inference alone is wrong. I said I don't like the Host not getting the final at-bat. There's zero other comment about woulda, coulda, shoulda. Quit while you're behind.

I thought the NCAA fixed this? I remember in '03 A&M being the "away" team in both championship games against Cougar High at Olsen and I thought this lead to some modification to the rules that governed home/away in regionals. While I don't think the host school should be the home team throughout a regional, I do believe that a team should not be the home team in both championship games if the regional goes to the if necessary game.
