I pinged KR on X but didn't get a response. I'll try Bruany and Zane on $ to see if I get a reply. KR certainly tweeted they fixed it a few years ago, but like I said a few days ago he's done that a time or two on similar issues that haven't come to pass.

Then it just proves that baseball is the most insane, unpredictable sport ever created.

With that said, Kentucky has a long way to go.

So freaking dumb to host a regional and lose it by getting walked off in a winner take all game.

The host should 110% be the home team in this game.

I think they should too, but that's not really the point. There's nothing saying that Oklahoma wouldn't have done this at the top of the inning. Georgia Tech didn't hit well the last two innings.

And, that's baseball. It doesn't always lean your way to being home team.

While you are right, the host team being the home team would have the opportunity to come to the plate to try and win as the home team rather than be walked off.

I thought the NCAA fixed this? I remember in '03 A&M being the "away" team in both championship games against Cougar High at Olsen and I thought this lead to some modification to the rules that governed home/away in regionals. While I don't think the host school should be the home team throughout a regional, I do believe that a team should not be the home team in both championship games if the regional goes to the if necessary game.

They did fix this. There is a list some where on a few of the threads. The "how home is determined" has 1-5 options. The reason we are home tonight is point 3 of that 1-5.

I do think the host should be home for all of their games. Maybe, just maybe they lose it if they end up in the loser's bracket.

Voodoo happening in Morgantown. Two runners now (one for each team) that should be out stealing 2B but both runners avoid the tag. Crazy.

GT would have had to be the home team yesterday to be away today. It's why we'll be home tonight, they make sure you're not the away team twice.

Yep, Host should never be in this position in the deciding If Necessary game.

Oklahoma played the better game. You guys seem to be focusing on the wrong thing here. I do agree with you about the home team thing, but that's not why they "lost"

You seem to be making stuff up and putting words in our mouth. No one here said it's why they lost. But it is 100% still stupid.

I'm not making up anything. You guys seem to be angry because the home team didn't get the last bat therefore insinuating that you thought they would win if they had. Maybe I read too much into it. It's OK if we have differing opinions. Don't need to get tiffy about it.

Last comment -- I did not insinuate any such thing! Your inference, and your inference alone is wrong. I said I don't like the Host not getting the final at-bat. There's zero other comment about woulda, coulda, shoulda. Quit while you're behind.

That's why I said 'maybe I read too much into it'. Look you had the attitude to begin with. I just matched it. If you don't like it, don't dish it out.

I think you're more irritated that Oklahoma won than you were at the host team being visiting team. turn this around and make the Austin regional and Texas being visiting team and losing on that, you wouldn't have had a problem if it was a team you were indifferent too. I don't know if you'll be honest about that but I think that's where it lies and why you got so sideways, laughing emoji, and feeling like you could dish out instructions others on what they can and can't say or can or can't reply.

I don't take any of this personally, but I'm not gonna back down to anyone and I'm not gonna not say what I want to say. I can piss someone off in one post and then laugh at something they say in the Next. I don't get bent out of shape over anything that is said on TexAgs.

We both agreed that we think the host team should be home teams. From the beginning.

Done.

But I'm not at all and that's kinda my point. I'm much more upset that a host doesn't get the last AB. I have family all over OK and am fine with the result, even if I was rooting for Ga Tech and the best offense to carry on. And even if I'm rooting for cinderella Kansas next weekend. Ok now I'm really really done.

OMG you are right! Just confirmed on ncaa.com box as well. OU got two home games in a row at Georgia Tech (games 6 and 7). Now that is supremely messed up.

Yeah, that makes zero sense. Without remembering from even watching part of it last night I just assumed they were the away team.

With Oklahoma's 8-7 10-inning win over No. 2 Georgia Tech in the Atlanta Regional game 7, No. 3 Georgia is the highest remaining seed. No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Georgia Tech, No. 9 Southern Miss, No. 10 Florida State, and No. 13 Nebraska all lost their regionals. 4 other regional hosts are still alive: No. 8 Florida are No. 16 West Virginia currently in the 5th inning of their elimination games, and No. 4 Auburn, and No. 12 Texas A&M play their elimination games tonight.

Abundantly clear this weekend -- appallingly even -- that are arm talent is really lacking. Got to get that fixed for next year. Well, that and replacing 3/4 of the lineup too.
