Reminds me of a Nolan Ryan story. I think it was Bobby V. that came to the mound, late in a game, to pull Ryan. Ryan asked what are you doing out here? Bobby V. said, you look tired. Nolan said I am, but I'm still better than anything you're bringing out of the pen. Bobby just walked back to the dugout.
This is pretty much what the situation is imo.

Baseball more than any other sport is a game of inches. Could have worked out perfectly, just didn't this time.

Just no good swings on the ball. It's mental, and they are counting outs. Kinda reminds me of 1992 Gainesville for some reason, even though we were ahead in that one. Maybe 1998 Mississippi State. 1999 LSU and 2003 Houston are the most similar in what's literally happening.
