That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

And I don't blame coaching for that. The coaching didn't make them great all season and then suddenly not. The top 3 in our lineup choked. Simple as that. Bad AB's. Just failed.

Im tired of being happy to finish 3rd in the SEC and being content that we maybe progress to levels we had achieved/expected previously, next year
Sorry if that's unpopular and that excuses permit our finish with some. We're better than our Missouri performance last year but the measuring stick of success seems a bit off now and we're strangely content with that.

I thought Earley came a long way as a manager this year. I'm not sure he will become a great coach yet but I think it's possible and certainly don't think he's on the hot seat. His biggest weakness this year turned out to be as hitting coach. With our lineup, there's not much excuse to flounder around at the plate for the last 4-5 weeks of the season. He may need to get some help in that area.

It was very frustrating how USC outscored us in games 6 and 7 by a combined score of 21-4 to get ousted from our own regional. After USC lost to Texas State 5-4 in game 2, they won their next four games against Lamar in game 3, Texas State in Game 5, Texas A&M in game 6, and Texas A&M in Game 7 by a combined score of 55-14 to reach the Super Regional for the first time since 2005.

A couple of pitches later, three-run shot to right field to give @USC_Baseball a 5-1 lead over Texas A&M.
Uhh… Ok?
I mean, it was easily visible that he was losing it but the only strategy was to push on with Fresh. Feel bad for him because he did great and was left out there till a blind man listening to the game could know a pitching change was necessary
No it wasn't. The reliever was sitting at 95 pitches and had just given up a walk and a single. You go get him
Honestly don't think it mattered. We didn't have anything better in our bullpen. We've seen many times the move get made just so the next guy can give up that bomb. We have to go find some pitchers after hopefully Earley fires JK tomorrow.
Who would you hire? Earley is on the hot seat. Anyone reputable isn't coming. You could take a flyer I guess on some no name

This is Earley's ceiling. He's not an elite coach and certainly cannot compete against elite coaches. We'll waste another two years and move on. Wash, rinse, repeat

Just what would you have done different? Was he going to go bat for Grahovac, or Sorrell, or any other of our big hitters who couldn't do jack s***?

He has two years in his contract and hasn't done anything spectacular . Tell me if he has another blah season why we wouldn't let him go after 2027 with just a 1 year buy out?
And they were non-existent last year. What's the common denominator? More of the same to come. This roster isn't getting MORE talented94chem said:
This offense kinda reminded me of the 1990 offense. People still talked about it like it was 1989, but it wasn't. Those guys were gone. Our guys had been gone for several weeks, but nobody wanted to admit it.

I think we didn't let him go last season because it would have been too expensive. I think they play out his contract (unless he completely tanks)

You think we keep him to save 1 million dollars in an actual sport that A&M cares about? This isn't women's basketball or soccer where we are content to let contracts run out. We have major internal problems if that happens

I honestly think we'll know a lot next year. He's going to have to replace all of his inherited talent. If he's able to do so he may have a chance. If he can't then he's going to need a moving company. He has a Top 10 class right now but with a lower average grade than most in the Top 15. I guess we'll see how they pan out. He's probably earned a little slack on the recruiting front. ... At least on offense.

He should've never been hired to "keep the team together." That was a bonehead move and now we're stuck with him. He's not a bad coach, but certainly wont take us to a championship, or even close, imo. I hope Im wrong, but after two seasons, I just dont see it.

You act like he hadn't been the popular hitting coach for 7 years prior to his promotion to HC.
Where does their hitting jack **** fall upon? Not him and HIS staff?
