I tested positive last Saturday. Had a pretty high fever going the first few days, runny nose and only an occasional cough. I currently have only a very low grade fever (if that), but I am dealing with pain in my glutes. It will radiate down the back/sides of my legs. Like sciatica. Anybody else dealing with this?
This is a pretty common symptom, muscle/joint aches. I get bad pain on my shoulders, lower back, upper thigh. Ive had lingering Covid symptoms for 5-6 months, and the muscle pain is when I know the symptoms are returning.

Just an FYI to everyone on here, as someone who has been dealing with this crap for 5-6 months and tried just about every kind of medicine out there lol. Tylenol Sinus Severe is about the only medicine that has worked for me. Makes me feel so much better when Im dealing with aches, stuffy nose, low grade fever etc.

Welp I tested positive today. One of my employees tested positive friday before last and I was around him quite a bit. I've felt completely fine up until today. Had quite a bit to drink watching the games yesterday and thought it was just a hangover but started getting chills and minor aches. Temp been bouncing around between 99 and 101. Taste still present and with my allergies and sinus issues I can rarely ever smell anything.

Day 2: Fever, chills, aches gone. Slight congestion but nothing out of the ordinary for me with my sinus issues. Spo2 around 97%. Feel good. Would have honestly been at work this morning had I not went through what I did yesterday and tested positive.

My office mate, became symptomatic on 11/4 and checked into the ER on the 14th for three days. He is now fine except for the fatigue and losing his breath. He is back to working half days, but strictly office work. They told him it could easily last another month or two.

My daughter is up and down. She is on day 12 or so. She still has a bad cough and no sense of smell or taste, . Day ten felt like she was over it and wanted to make Christmas plans. Next day could not get out of be for the fatigue and today added runny nose again to the symptoms. Constant cough and fatigue. She is watching o2 levels. Her husband is on day ten and still running fever. Milder cought but has not been fever free the entire time. All while they are having to take care of their five year old. daighter.

Praying for all. Started this thread when I was going through it. I got over it at end of day 12. Had fever for 12 days on and off, 3rd Gen Ag, I was like your daughter as all went away on day 10 and thought I was better but fever came back. And then day 12 it was gone.

Anyways, my parents in Florida now have it (I live in NC). Only been to some Dr apptointments they absolutely needed, so guess they got it there. My Dad is 86 with BP issues, on blood thinners, has emphysema, etc. On about day 10 and only reason he know he has it is because he got tested with my Mom. Had a few hrs of sniffles.

My Mom is 74 and with several severe chronic lung issues, recent crazy BP swings/issues, and a slew of other things. She is struggling a bit more on day 10. Been mild fever, chills, headaches, loss of taste and smell, cough (she has all the time with her issues) and significant fatigue. All that being said, it's a miracle its only been this for them so far. This can change on a dime though, and they are the highest of high risks. Both of their O2 levels have not been worse than 96 yet. When Corona first came about, we honestly said our peace and good byes just in case as they knew what it could be for them.

Just crazy the different effects no matter the cohort.

Prayers for all the folks who have recently got this thing.

I have a question around recovery and what I can do speed it up.

I'm a week and a half out of the Hospital now. My voice is back and I'm able to work as long as I stay sitting. Over the weekend, we went to the mall to do some shopping. Its like I'm 90. Walk at a reasonable but slow pace for 20min then find a seat to rest for a bit. This does not seem to be improving. I get out of breath doing dishes. I figure exercise has to be good so I'm staying as active as I can. I have my follow-up with my pulmonologist next week and I
guess I'll get some answers there.

I'm taking Vit D, Vit C, musenex and I'm still on my puffer steriod. Is there something else I should be taking? Is there other things I should be doing or is this my new normal for now?

Any input and advice is appreciated
FTR. -E

Keep us updated, saying many prayers for you and others. I obviously have no clue, and your Dr will hopefully give you better answers. I know some and have heard others very similar to yours and it took a couple months to get almost all the way back. Some a few weeks. Hang in there, might take awhile considering what you went through.

Day 1 (12/18): Minor sore throat
Day 2: Sore throat, slight cough and nasal congestion
Day 3: Feel fine from the neck down, but now have lost all smell and taste
Day 4: No real change, coughing more in the morning, but very little after.

Its strange, even though I can't smell or taste anything, I still get hungry, crave foods and feel satisfied after eating.

Day 5: Congestion almost gone, still no taste or smell. If it wasn't for the taste and smell thing, I'd think nothing of it. So strange how this can be a minor annoyance for some and deadly for others.

Just got back from a trip with another couple. One of them tested positive today, but is not yet showing symptoms (tested just as a precautionary measure after getting back from the trip).

I was in close contact with them every day for the 7 day trip so I will 100% be testing positive soon.

Any advice on how to get a head start before symptoms appear?

I'm on my 9th day. Had fever chills for 36 hours of day 1-2, took some Advil and it just went away. Lost taste and smell day 3 but have had no other symptoms at all. Day 8 taste started coming back slowly. Today day 9 slightly better. Never had a cough or sore throat.
I have been supplementing with vitamin d since probably March so maybe that has something to do with it.

Start Rev's supplements. Get a Pulse Ox. Stock up on easily prepared foods, perhaps some paper goods so you can throw them away instead of washing dishes. We chose to give disposable water bottles to our daughter when she had it (which is not our norm) instead of one of us refilling her water bottle or her leaving her room to refill it.

Best wishes to you and your friends

Day 3: same as yesterday. I feel completely fine this morning.
I'm almost wondering if I got a false positive on my test Sunday. Something was definitely causing my fever though. I've never just laid up with chills under the covers for a full day like that. Temp was consistently 99-101+ and touched 102 a time or two before the fever broke in the evening. Getting another test this morning (non rapid) to make sure it wasn't a false positive.

I'm wondering if this is why I'm feeling this good on my 3rd day after positive test result. I've been taking vitamin d, zinc, quercetin, coq10 since Dr Rev started posting about it way back. Trying not to get a false sense of security but being a bigger guy with certain risk factors I was experiencing alot of anxiety when I tested positive. I'm pretty sure my exposure happened Friday before last so I hope I'm on the back side of things and Sunday was the worst day.

HoosierAG,

I'm sorry to hear about your parents.
That scenario, described by you and by many other here, is my worst case.
My mother is 81, still on Chemo and living in Biloxi MS.
She's being very careful but if she were to get it, no one could see her and she would be isolated completely on a Covid Ward. Similar situations in nursing homes or assisted living have happened around us.

I'll keep your folks in my prayers as well.

My whole family got it and we all had different reactions.
My 14 year old had a single day of fever.
My 20 year old son had 3 days of fever and chills
My 22 year old son got to finish is Exams in college station through 5 days of fever of chills
His wife tested negative and never got it.

My wife had it for 2 weeks, it started to get her and then the steroids' and vitamin D fought it off
I really wonder why it came after me, and others like me, to the level it did.

That's a bit frightening I have to say.
I really hope you feel 100% better soon.

I realize by reading this thread and others like it in this forum that as bad as my experience has been, I'm still very blessed and lucky. I have friends who have lost family as have many of you. I'm just praying that this is over soon like the pandemics before it. I'm also grateful to live in this day and age where our medical knowledge has progressed as far as it has.

Thank you! I thought I was done with covid but I started getting symptoms again the other day, so its going on almost 7 months with lingering symptoms (I got Covid early June). The symptoms arent all that bad, its just nagging and kind of a pain to deal with. Also, I never know when they'll pop up. I will feel fine for 2 weeks, then be out and about somewhere and it'll hit me out of nowhere.

I read something that 25% of people infected with Covid will experience long-term symptoms up to 6 months after infection. They call us long haulers lol. Not much I can do besides wait it out and be patient. Even though this has sucked, thankfully I havent had to go to the ER or anything serious like that.

Wow were you guys all dealing with this at the same time?

I read about your experience throughout this thread. Glad to see you are on the right side of things now. Praying that you and the rest of the family to remain healthy. It's crazy and scary how this thing is so random. Hard to figure out why it comes after some harder than others. I know all the things about comorbidities and such but I've seen it go hard on some of the fittest people I know and go easy on some of the overweight beer drinkers like myself. Hopefully it continues to show me mercy.

So far kids and wife are symptom free. Wife got tested yesterday and awaiting results. Worried about my 7 year old. He insists on sleeping in our bed because of this stupid dog we have that will only sleeping our bed. Until Sunday he had slept in our bed all of the previous week.

Male, 69. Exposed on Thursday evening. Made aware on Saturday. Tested Sunday with sniffles only. Monday & Tuesday were the worst. Headache, low fever, dry cough, fatigue. Positive PCR returned Tuesday. Wednesday better, Thursday even better. Friday nothing but a runny nose and still some fatigue. Wife never got it. I guess I was lucky!
On day 10 now. Just got retested. Positive. Doctor said do not test again. Just shedding non replication-competent virus. Could test positive for 3 months. Released me for normal activity tomorrow (day 11). Lost taste and smell on day 6. Taste back next day. Smell back to around 50%. I used Reveille's drug cocktail from before infection. Started the wife on it when I tested positive, she never got it!

Great news. Glad to hear you're about past this crap. I did the same with my wife. She tested negative yesterday. Hoping it stays that way. She has a very strong immune system. I think in the 16 years we've been together I've seen her sick twice.

Not sure exactly what day I'm on. I think things started last wed but I dismissed it as allergies. Sunday sucked and then I was great Mon, Tues, and most of today until about 30 minutes ago and the damn fever decided to reappear. Oxygen and breathing are great though and very little cough or congestion.

welp I think I have it. Low grade temp elevation - hard to call it a 'fever' as it is only around 99.5 for most of the day today. That is the only symptom, really, but I guess I need to put off seeing MIL (78) and parents (82). Just ruined Christmas.

Also trying to decide whether to get tested. It seems that regardless of test results I need to be isolated even from family for 10 days? So why test?

If you have negative test results, why do you need to isolate for ten days? If your rapid test is negative, have it sent off. If that's negative, then you should be clear.

Due to possible false negatives, at least according to med clinic info I've been reading.

Day 5 here. First 2-3 days were rough, but no fever today for the first time since saturday. I keep hearing day 7-10 is brutal and pretty worried about that, but hoping it's nothing. I'm on all the vitamins recommended with a slight tweak to some of the doses. Wife tested positive first, I'm 1-2 days behind her and she just lost taste / smell on day 6-7. I'm hoping this is mild, but the ability of this thing to turn on a dime is what worries me.

I tested positive on Sunday with a rapid test. I was told (and subsequently read) that the rapid test can provide false negatives. But it is pretty accurate on the positives. So they said if it tested negative they'd send it off or give me a pcr test. But since it was positive, no need. The pcr test is supposedly very accurate with few false positives or negatives.

Yes on the testing. The second test is highly accurate. My daughter still has a horrid cough at two weeks. She had very little if any fever for more than one day.. Her husband had very little cough, but still running fever and chills at night at two weeks.

Both mention fatigue issue is huge. They are in their forties and not used to getting so tired they have to sit down and rest.

Day 10 here. Wife and I both got it, so at least we didn't have to isolate from one another.

88PlanoAg - 99.5 is pretty typical, especially if coupled with a dry cough.

Days 1- 4 - We both had low grade fever (high was 101), cough, body aches, and significant headache.

Days 4-6 - Felt substantially better - thought we were over it. No more fever and other symptoms diminishing.

Days 7-9 - Around Day 6 or 7, my wife lost taste and smell (I didn't), and we both began major sinus congestion, fatigue, and shortness of breath feeling (O2 never got low, though.) Just basically felt run over.

Days 9-10 - Yesterday, my wife got her energy back (not all, but significant), and I appear to have done the same this morning. We both still have a way to go on the fatigue, and she still has lost taste, but finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Curious if you've had any persistent symptoms like brain fog or a spike in heart rate come out of nowhere?

Today is day 7 since I tested positive; day 14 since I was exposed.

Still only minor symptoms. The biggest is fatigue and brain fog. I get tired easily. Yesterday I sat on the porch with my 9-year old while my wife ran to the store. (We sat 10 feet apart, outside, both wearing masks). She got stuck in some traffic and was gone about an hour. It took a lot out of me to sit there and try to have a conversation for that long.

Also can't focus. I've tried to use the time in isolation to work on a book I'm writing, but I can only outline. Get too much brain fog when I try to actually write a chapter.

Other symptoms are sore throat (fairly mild; comes and goes), upset stomach, feeling of tightening and mild pain in the lungs.

I am really blessed not to have more severe symptoms. Hope it stays this way for the rest of the ride.

While correlation does not prove causation, I was already following Dr. Rev's supplement recommendations before I was exposed. I added 50,000 IU of vitamin D on the day I learned I was exposed, and another 50,000 IU on the day I tested positive. My doctor prescribed Ivermectin, which I took on Saturday and again on Tuesday.

My co-worker spent a week in the hospital, and is still on supplemental oxygen 5 days after being discharged from the hospital.

Another employee is a "long hauler" who had persistent nausea and vomiting for weeks.

Compared to them my symptoms are minor. They are annoying but not terrible.
