Yep. 2016 will be tough!

A&M's own Deon Lendore's pretty good, too.

Why is Hardy running in the 200 while Ameer Webb is not?

Blake (9.75), Bolt (9.86), and Powell (9.88) made the Jamaican 100m team today. Michael Frater (9.94) finished 4th, Nesta Carter was down at 6th with a 10.01.

Fraser-Price, Campbell-Brown, and Kerron Stewart went 1-2-3 in the women's final.

And Yohan Blake just kinda popped out of nowhere as well. Kinda makes you wonder.

One thing I am worried about is, looks like the rest of the world may also be catching up to us in the 400m. It's not the automatic lock for gold it used to be (although Merritt is damned good).

So...I questioned our 400m guys, but what I forgot was our absolute insane depth in the 400m hurdles. Disappointed in Jeshua Anderson though.

Wow...Alyson Felix and Jeneba Tarmoh run the exact same time AGAIN in the 200m, albeit in different heats. That's just so unlikely it isn't funny.

Felix was timed 0.001s faster than Tarmoh. Still crazy, Tarmoh got a big tailwind, someone up above is having some fun with these trials.

For purposes of making the team, Felix had her typical slow start and then burned past everyone. Again, the wind helped Tarmoh's efforts, it'll be an absolute fight in the finals.

Both dodged the question. The deadline is tomorrow, so we'll know tomorrow.

that was damn impressive by Felix.

Do you guys ever think there will be a time where a triple jumper is so good they can reach the pit in two?

Watched that zapruder footage of the Jamaican 100m final. Blake looked damned good, but Bolt didn't look the same. Awful start and looked to be laboring...and still ran in the 9.8's, wow.

Perhaps. I'm sure there are currently guys that could squeak their feet into the sand in two, but to make it in two and have a competitive mark? Probably not in our lifetime. They'd probably move the takeoff board back before they'd let it happen, anyways.

And yeah, Bolt looked "slow." Only he could run like that and still post a 9.86.

Blake, Gatlin, and Bledman have all hit (legal) PRs in the past week. Gay also just ran as well as he has in about a year.

I'm assuming the T&T team will be Keston Bledman, Richard Thompson, and Rondel Sorrilo? Looks like they had the three best times last weekend according to the IAAF top list.

Yeah, my next statement was going to be about moving the board back. Christian Taylor had a great jump to win the event.

Its got to be nice to pass your last four jumps and be on your way to the Olympics.

The USA use to have some depth at the TJ, what has happened over the past few years?
Pahdz
How long do you want to ignore this user?
We used to have depth at TJ? I've thought we're not as strong at LJ as we used to be.
TXAggie2011
How long do you want to ignore this user?

We didn't have outstanding depth, but we usually have some competition for the Olympic team. We will only be sending two TJers to London.

I thought they were good friends. Why doesn't Felix concede the 100 since her main race is the 200 anyway. What gives

How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
Seriously???? Ya.... Just concede your spot in the Olympics? Wow....

Do you really think that is how she wants to earn her spot on the Olympics? By someone just giving it to her because they felt she wouldn't be able to beat them? Wow wow wow

They are great friends, and I am sure whoever loses will give the winner a gigantic hug and cheer the other one with all they've got over in London.

Felix has been working ridiculously hard to make the 100m team. She broke out into tears when Jeneba was announced third last week. She also told Jeneba she was extremely happy for her.

So, may the best woman win. I'm excited for tomorrow night. Both are class acts, though I wouldn't be disappointed if Jeneba squeaks out a victory.

Both, by rule, are in the relay pool that will be going to London, so not all is lost.

Hopefully Batman Jackson will still be in the relay pool for the 1600m relay...though loss. That was a great race though.

Agree with you Oklaunion. How often will you get to compete in the Olympic trials and then to give a half -a** effort in the last ten meters blows my mind.

So Jeneba would have rather had it come down to a coin flip?

I don't see any way this shouldn't be determined by a run-off. skill > luck

But neither of these girls have trained for this. It's not a true test of who is better in the 100m, it's a test of who has the most left after the 200m final.

These sprinters meticulously train to peak in the finals, and now you're asking them to, on tired legs, run for a spot in the Olympics? It sucks all around and we probably won't see another straight up tie in our lifetime.
Bunk Moreland
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I don't think it means Jeneba wants a coin flip...I dont think she liked the initial options presented to them, and I don't think she felt comfortable being forced into a decision in a back room deal...which is the way she's making it sound.

Hope it works out for her and the the olympic team.

I can understand that "loss of her moment" part of things. If they have nothing in place for an eventuality like that and named her the winner on the field, seems a little rough to take it away and say, "Re-earn it."

My gut tells me its the best way, but the part of me that competed would hate the difference in how you win or don't win...not the same environment at all and taking a victory lap, being awarded and what not then having it taken away is hard to take if you basically ran the race of your life.
AgDC
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Looks like she might be reconsidering the runoff.....

Kind of harsh though isn't it?

"Hey, you ran the absolute race of your life. But, that's meaningless now, do it again or else you don't go to the Olympics."
