W. Soccer wins over France 4-2.

After about 15 mins they were down 2-0.

I posted on the "Across the Globe" board requesting any Ags in London to post some pics of our Ags competing.

Lets hope some good Ag finds their way here or there.

But on a serious note, I took the week off of work to watch as much as I can.

Will be watching WP (Americans have great shot at a medal on both sides); Will probably watch the team competition for gymnastics (the intensity of that interests me more than the individual)

I'll take our start today, but that was ugly stuff in the defending half. France could have had another goal or two.

They can't afford to afford Japan that kind of space.

Our Aggie archers qualified for round of 64 at 14th and 15th this morning. Third USA girl sits fourth. Team USA earns #2 seed in team competition behind South Korea.

For those that don't know, South Korea is to archery as we are to basketball. It will take something monumental to topple them, be it individually or team wise. nice to see we are right there behind them though.

is there anywhere I can watch the opening ceremonies live online, or do I have to wait for NBC at home tonight?

Not quite true...South Sudan doesn't have an Olympic Committee yet, and the Netherlands Antilles athletes all have citizenships, but to countries that haven't had the chance to establish Olympic Committees and are in various legal states. I believe down the road they can choose to compete for the Netherlands or Aruba until they get their own committees.

China is making a joke of the drug testing policies. The female 400IM winner split .03 slower than Ryan Lochte (Olympic winner and fastest time in a textile suit by over a second). I don't know if it is a new masking agent, a new drug or both. Regardless, China knows how to avoid testing positive.

Another example is the male 400FR winner. He missed the WR (made in a suit) by .07. His closing speed was the difference between him and Park. That level of endurance is unheard of for a reason.


Disclaimer: Breaking a WR that was set in the illegal suit era does not make someone a cheater. Just look at how those records were broken.

Watching US vs South Korea volleyball. South Korea's Kim is like Laura Jones was for us, she is there really only go to option. And its working pretty well.

Would have even been more fun had we watched the Lochte/Phelps showdown live then switched over, instead I accidentally clicked on both twitter and ESPN and saw the result...doesn't matter though because I was already spoiled by sports radio on the way home!

Thanks NBC for thinking of the viewers! It's going to make the tape delay of the swimming finals tonight so exciting! Oh, I won't be watching at 8PM on a saturday night. I'll be out.

Best time by 5 seconds for Ye and her last 100 out split THREE of the men's finalists.. That's normal, right?

And don't forget Brazil....they've had a few swimmers test positive and get slaps on the wrists. Also had a male 400 IMer come from nowhere to take silver.

I agree those performances by the Chinese are eye openers (or should be).

The US timing for Trials is not looking so good.

China cheats like every other authoritarian country, this isn't new. They don't get caught because they use designer steroids that no one has the ability to test for.

They really need to just allow PEDs and be done with it. The Olympics are becoming a joke because half the countries don't follow the rules and everyone knows some sports are full of rampant using (cycling and sprinters).

calling out Sun or Thiago for cheating is just sour grapes. those dudes have been awesome for years. Sun is the best distance freestyler in history.
