They're supposed to have a foot on the ground at all times, and the front leg (on the ground) is supposed to be straight.

The sports machines in those two countries set them up well for events based so much on technique and repetition.

Its not surprising they're both so strong in weightlifting for similar reasons.

Kids were fascinated by it. Saw the Russian who eventually won receive a couple warnings. Interesting. She looked like she was jogging.

Can't say about the russians, but numerous times I have heard the announcer say about a diver, gymnast, etc that the child was seen by the government at age 4, 5, or 6 and they had been training since that time. When I hear that, I just cringe. The USA has many things that need changing, but it is still the best country in the world.

I am not sure about the gold medalist today, but the silver medalist went to the race walking school in Saransk, Russia, that scouts and invites children as young as 12 years old.

The Chinese bronze medalist is from the Tibetan plateau and was brought to a sports school. I am not sure how old she was then, but she is 22 right now.

OUTSTANDING diving gold medal for David Boudia in the 10M platform. The Chinese end up with only 6 golds.

Any one else hate how NBC just put an hour of their new show and the local news in between the "closing ceremony" and the "closing party"?

Damn it NBC. What a fail of a move. No way to make a new show flop than to piss everybody off wanting to watch rock legends. Instead you preempt a great concert for some dumbass vet show with the guy from Weeds.

I'll give NBC Sports some props for helping me ease out of my closing ceremony blues...running all sorts of "Return to London" replays.

I was suffering a bit of Olympics hangover as well. Wasn't sure what to watch last night.

I flew into London Sunday for work, it's depressing, they don't know what to do now.
