Didn't deserve to win that game, kari did, the rest of the team didn't. Glad we got a point at least which is important in this shortened season. Need to learn what we did wrong and fast. Benn can't come soon enough, he brings a totally new dynamic.

Just got my 6-game ticket pack that starts Saturday. This team's going to have to play a lot better to hang with the Blues.

Hopefully aaron rome is good to go soon we could use his size and experience.

With Jagr and Benn likely out and Kari getting the night off, they definitely need it. I'm pretty bummed, I was looking forward to watching Jagr and of course a win. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.

I HATE THE BLUES

I believe the young Reilly Smith is gonna jump up to a top 6 line and show us what he's got. The Stars have a tough game cut out for them. Kari, and Jagr are out with minor tweaks. There is also a mystery injury for tonight. Likely Whitney or Roy.

I have a feeling tonight is gon' be bad. Nistorp is going to have to stand on his head like Kari on Thursday for us to have a chance. This is what I'm afraid of. We have some(top line) talent, but we are not a very deep team and injuries are going to really hinder our play (obviously). I guess we'll see exactly what we have in the AHL youngsters tonight.

Roy out with a groin injury officially, I'm just gonna be optimistic about tonight, kick back, and watch some pesky stars hockey. I'd be satisfied with 1 point out of this.

Vinny and Ryder coming up big so far!

What a crappy second period. We have NO defense.

Just weren't pesky enough tonight. Need some experience; essentially a glorified AHL team out there on both sides of the puck besides ryder and eriksson and robidas. We really need our top end guys back and healthy.

Watched the first 4 on TV, and was at the game tonight. The thing that has stuck out to me is how much this team misses Steve Ott. They are in desperate need of an enforcer like him. There's absolutely no physicality in this team's play. Nobody intimidating. They are a very good skating team though. Thoughts?

I am very optimistic about this team and think they have a decent shot at the playoffs.

Yeah we are missing the physicality of players like Ott and Burish and Morrow just isnt the same presence he used to be. I'm optimistic though with the return of Benn who I feel is going to come out and try to make an immediate impact both physically and offensively. I also feel that once Aaron Rome is 100% he could become a physical presence on defense and other potential physical threats are both jordie benn and brenden dillon who are both sizeable d-men that will both hopefully become dominant physical bodies once they get the nhl game experience and get used to the game speed and caliber of players they face on a nightly basis.

Overall it is just gonna be a waiting game until our team can get the experience and chemistry down in order to be successful. Given the short season and the scrappy group of guys we have I feel anything could happen with the effort I've seen thus far that is just lacking experience.

I'm optimistic about this season as well.

Gagliardi just needs to come out and admit what most of us Stars fans know: his long-term goal is to move the franchise to Seattle (or Portland as a backup plan).

Agreed. James Neal was as his nickname says "the real deal" and couldve been a very valuble contributor to our offense. Instead we get a lackluster d-man whose supposed offensive qualities were just what we needed. Don't get me wrong, I love goose but Neal is someone that couldve been a complete asset these past few years and I hope GM Joe has lost sleep over.

That being said I don't really have expectations to do anything great this season but I hope games like this columbus game don't happen. Lets just hope we pick it up against the Wings tomorrow

It also helps when you are playing with people named Malkin, Crosby, etc. but I get what you are saying. He would definitely not put up his current numbers here, but would greatly improve our (puzzlingly) anemic offense.

I do not like goose. I think he plays very stupidly and selfishly. How many times has he shot with 3 defenders in front of him only to have it blocked and an odd man rush at the other end? He's terrible. I've had it with his shoot, shoot, shoot mentality.

I have definitely developed a wait and see approach with GM Joe with all the radical moves he makes. I was against bringing in Kari and phasing out Turco at first but it has proven to have paid off significantly and has kept things from being as bad as they could have been. Other moves such as the Neal trade etc have me still on the fence. Im just kinda waiting to see where the team is going from here and to see if joes moves and/or future moves pan out.

I'm liking what I'm seeing from Eakin so far. The kid plays hard and can make plays.

Much better effort tonight from this team...so far.

And unfortunately the same pattern is developing again. Repeated trips to the penalty box resulting in the other team scoring.

The only place this team is going is away from Dallas in 2-3 years.

I counted 3 horrid turnovers by Gogo in the second period alone, not to mention his shots getting constantly blocked. The dude sucks.

They better figure something out fast. They can't put together 60 minutes of decent hockey at this point.

Is it too late to tank the shortened season and get a really high first round draft pick? Just exhausting all options at this point.

It's only been a week and a half but I have just about had my fill of hockey. The icing on the cake will be the Sharks finally winning the SC this year.

Agreed. Eriksson, Benn, Jagr , Ryder, Robidas as top line haha. In all seriousness, we have forwards that play more defense than gogo but I'm not gonna put the blame squarely on him. I think its just impossible to be as successful as we want to be in such an unorthodox season with a lot of new players and and a huge lack of prep time to get chemistry and just the general feel of the game down. These players hardly know each other and a good number of these players are new to regular nhl minutes which is much different than the ahl. It would also help if Roy could get his act together and be healthy for once which I don't see happening.

That was another clown trade...Ott for Roy? There are ZERO tough guys. Dillon should have clobbered Tootoo last night, which he kind of did. But Ott would've DESTROYED Tootoo.

That Dillon fight was about the only thing worth watching last night. I definitely hope Dillon brings this intensity every night from now on. Its time for somone to step up for the team.

We needed that one tonight. Dillon is really making a name for himself out there each game. Nice to have bottom 6 players step up in their game and reel in the W.
