Morrow (UFA at the end of this season) is being traded assuming he drops his no-trade clause. PIT or BOS look like the likely trade partners.

Waived NTC to go to Pitt. Still waiting to hear who's/what's coming back.

Joe Morrow. Pitt's #1 D prospect, 2011 1st round pick.

A very good deal for both sides, I think.

It looks like we also gave up one of our two remaining 3rd round picks and picked up a 5th rounder.

Can I just say I'm loving seeing all these old faces as a part of the 20 year team? I grew up watching these guys fight to lift the cup and it's great to see them back in Dallas.

Give up a go ahead short-handed goal and don't score on a double minor...

what a cluster**** of a finish

we shouldn't have lost that game

an uncharacteristic poor goal allowed by kari, plus a couple where he spilled out way too many rebounds

too many turnovers.

Anyone else at the Min game last night? It was a fun one to watch.

I'm am so tired of the roller coaster that is this team. Gully needs to go for sure and possibly Joe as well. I would love for Jagr to stay another year, but if I were him I would want to bail from this clusterf- at the earliest opportunity.

I feel bad for Kari. He puts out every night and continually gets shat on by this team. Pathetic.

Say goodbye to Roy and (possibly) Jagr. This is the last we'll be seeing of them in Stars jerseys.

That's ok. We always knew they were rentals anyways. Might as well get some prospects in return. Hopefully we'll go out and get some pieces in the offseason to compliment our young talent and get back into the playoffs next year. I assumed this year would be a tough transition. Next year needs a result.

"Told the Dallas Stars have decided to trade Jaromir Jagr. My sense is Boston leads the list of front-runners"

It won't take Gagliardi long to realize (and I think he's had this planned from the outset) that Dallas simply isn't a viable NHL market long-term. He wants the team closer to his Vancouver base, and isn't it interesting that Seattle is building a new arena (which can house both the relocated Kings and a hockey team)?

I disagree. I think Dallas is a viable hockey market and the Stars have survived pretty well over 20 years. The issue with Dallas-ites is they are generally bandwagon fans and only support winners. These last 4 or so years have been pretty lean, hence the lack of support. Win, and they will come.

Also, if team relocation is carried out I believe the league will move Phoenix or Florida before they move Dallas, regardless of Gaglardi's connections.

Jagr to Boston; Roy to Vancouver.

Ya'll see the trades today. Not happy to see Jagr go to Boston. It's likely only until the end of the season. He's likely got 1 more NHL season left in him. We'll see where he lands then.

But, sad to see him off the Stars and not on the Flyers....

This. It would be a real shame for the Stars to move, because Dallas is certainly a viable market for hockey. The Rangers used to have terrible attendance, and now look at them. OTOH, the Stars used to pack the house, but have consistently had lower attendance as playoff glory has grown more and more distant in our memories.

I go to 2-3 games a year and without fail over half the people in attendance are wearing the opposing team's jersey. It's really bad when St. Louis and Minnesota come to town (Minnesota's AHL franchise is in Houston so every hockey fan in the Concrete Swamp comes north).

When NO local ownership group had an interest in the Stars, that was my first clue that long-term they have no chance to succeed in Dallas.

Sure feels like they gave Ott away for nothing with the Roy trade to Vancouver..........too bad. Waiting too see when Erikson, Benn, Kari and/or Robidas is traded to another NHL team for a minor league prospect.

What. the. ****. Joe, you need to go **** yourself and then DIAF. You traded away a living legend, future HOFer, and the only exciting player we have this season for the equivalent of two Krys Barch's who will never see the light of day in the NHL and a pick. We had all the leverage; Jagr is way better than Morrow and you let Boston low-ball you, AND ACCEPT THE OFFER?! You should have at least asked them for what they were offering in the Morrow trade, i.e. FOR A WORSE PLAYER! How do these scrubs fill our needs at center, stay-at-home defenseman, right shots, or backup goaltender? I would rather have kept Jagr for 13 games more than watch him go for a bag of pucks. You are a ****ing idiot and got ass-raped AGAIN! I halfway hope the team does get moved so I don't have to watch or care about this steaming pile of horse**** that is this team anymore.

Calming down a bit...

I actually don't hate the Vincour trade. I guess throw all of our young Dmen against the wall and hope a couple of them stick.

Would really like/liked to have picked up an NHL-ready center. Hoping to have picked up the young Russian Alex Khochalev(?) from Boston. Heard he was a great prospect with tremendous upside. Of course Joe blew it.

Razor tweeted that you essentially got 2 forward prospects, a D prospect, a 2nd round pick and a 2nd/1st round pick for Roy (Jagr was and would have been a free agent). If you look at it that way, Joe did pretty well. We have a lot of young prospects and draft picks. This summer we can be players in free agency without giving up our young core. We're still probably a couple of years out, but I think we're headed in the right direction. Remember Joe has been dealing with the aftermath of the old ownership debacle and hasn't had an off season with a decent budget. I say give Joe the off season to work some deals and hire a new coach. Next year, his job should be on the line.
Kashchei

My only issue is the two prospects acquired from Boston are essentially goons-- fourth liners in the AHL. Those are a dime a dozen. I wanted a skilled forward with some potential who might actually see the NHL, like AK. Either that or an unconditional first round pick. It seems like Joe has gotten fleeced on every trade except for Kari, which was basically a crap shoot at the time anyway

If the prospects turn out to be like more Roussels and/or Dillons, Joe will look pretty good..............time will tell. Would agree that a coaching change is needed. Just bummed that Ott and Ryder were traded - really liked those guys.

Every win from here on out will make me a little bit happy, and a little bit sad. Love beating the Sharkies, but also realize we need a really good first round pick this year.

I knew Chiasson was gonna have a good future here after the way he played at Boston University. And we still have a shot at playoffs. We're 4 pts out of 8th with a game in hand on Detroit

This team keeps winning. Only 2 pts out of a playoff spot right now...
