He went and watched her last week or this week at a tournament, I am betting that that conversation was had. I don't know that anyone thought that she was gonna actually make it after the summer she has had.

Texas is putting together a good but inexperienced college team. meanwhile we are just furthering our juggernaut of a team. we will have a top 150 player in the world (mary)coming back, the player with the biggest ground strokes, arguably the most athletic girl in college tennis, an improving sec FOTY, a former SEC #1, a national champion senior, and star studded freshmen coming in. They can build good teams, we're building an elite program.

Clearly due to CSQ's hard work and influence.

not this year. we are using all 8 scholarships for Mary, Nicole, Mia, Lulu, Ava, Jennette, Daria and Lexington. Next year the scholarship number will go up to 10 but the roster will also be capped at 10. If Jennifer Jackson does indeed join the team in the spring, like it sounds, we will not have a scholarship to give her for the spring.

agreed. the ncaa screwed small roster sports like tennis with this new method. they couldn't care less they just want less liability after they just got sued for what could have been 10x worse had they not settled. the ncaa is a bunch of cowards

Crazy good replacement. Joffe isn't going anywhere. There will be a lot of fun battles against Georgia and Texas.

I thought we'd use our open scholarship in a similar way, but we are going to have a great team.

The issue was transferring and coming to the understanding that she didn't have a top 6 spot guaranteed in singles.

I would have loved the depth and option for us and think she probably would have ended up at 5 or 6 but there were no guarantees to be had.

it's a bummer for sure, she would have been a valuable piece for doubles and singles but we move on. I'm curious if it was influenced by Jennifer Jackson making it to campus in the spring. Either way we will still have a very good chance at making it back-to-back

IMO, and after reviewing UTR, she would have been playing at best line 6 at A&M; she could have factored into doubles. Sounds like Mark has a bigger fish on the line…

Honestly Jennifer Jackson sounds like she will potentially have an immediate impact….. so far, my lineup guess…. And yes, I made some bold changes haha.

*this is if we play Jackson this season, she could easily redshirt as well. I also hope to see Daria bounce back, if that happens she could also play a factor.

doubles:
1. M&M
2&3 i think will be played with again. i don't think mark was happy with doubles last year until the ncaa tourney. he had a serviceable doubles lineup before the tourney but I think he will experiment with new and old pairs. Lulu and nicole are locks to be in the lineup but where and with who are questions that i think mark is asking.

All this to say that Mark might also bring in another player, most likely international at this point, who could end up in the lineup and change this.

I'll be honest - I never loved the use of the last scholarship here. Likely obvious from some of my previous posts. Our situation is just like last year - one player away from an NCAA title.

We should search the globe and every college roster until Spring. Joffe just signed a 21 year old 11.09 out of nowhere. We get someone even close to that and we are favorites to repeat. Have Nicole or Carson help give the sales pitch.

Ideally someone to play top 4, but top 5 minimum. 10.7+ UTR with strong doubles to partner with Lulu.

We want Jeanette playing line 6 (and dominating there).
