Interesting. Hope Lex goes out and crushes it. A point at 6 against Georgia would be a clear upset.

I thought Jeanette played really well in the NCAA tournament year last year. It was clearly our weakest spot but she dominated OU and beat Collard from UVA 4 and 2. She had a tough loss against Tenn but was still battling UGA when things finished. I believe she was up in the second and had set points in each set. Also played well in doubles which has continued.

I'd like to see the switch, but will always cheer for whoever is out there for us.

I'm indifferent about it. I'm happy to see either. I agree that Lexington needs the matches, and I also think Jeanette might earn that spot back. Indoors is a fickle beast. Much different than outdoors.

I was surprised Lulu and Lex were not more competitive in their matches but both can come back and have much better matches today. I think Daria would have won her third set.

As mentioned by Mia in the interview, having Daria still playing was huge for both of them, a psychological boost.

Georgia is mowing down teams just like we did last year on the way to the title. But we can beat them.

We (and UCF) are the only ranked teams that remain undefeated. Georgia lost indoors at home with wildly different doubles pairs, but they did have Vecic and they won't today.

I think this is the downfall of not playing on indoor courts prior. Neither seemed comfortable and were scrapping for every point . Just never felt in control

If both teams play the singles lineup they played yesterday Mary will play Vidmanova and they played 3 times last year, Mia will play Reasco and they played twice last year, and Daria will play Grant and they played once last year.

Not sure when they have to be finalized, but yeah you have to play your top girls in order for the most part! The opposing coaches could protest the lineup if they believe that the opposing coach is moving their lineup to gain an advantage! They all have individual ncaa rankings and their professional rankings

Speaking of number 6, UGA's #6 has won a point in every single indoor match this tourney. They also won number 1 doubles yesterday 6-0… in the outdoor championship last year we took doubles from them when their doubles had not lost in a long time so we need to try to do the same!

Good info....thanks.

We don't have college wrestling, but I always found that interesting with guys losing
or gaining weight in order to match up with guys on the other team as they are matched by weight class.
Lot of strategy in a dual meet.

Georgia is the only team in the country that has an "on paper" advantage over us and especially with the top 2.

Dasha is ranked slightly ahead of Mary and Lopata slightly ahead of Nicole. Lopata is an NCAA singles finalist and Dasha an NCAA singles (and doubles) champion. We know Mary can beat Dasha and I think if Nicole is on, she has the fire power to hit through Lopata.

I don't care what the paper says. If we play our best we can win this.

Most straight forward path is steal doubles, win one and two and then have either Mia or Lulu come up big.

If we win one of 5/6, we become the favorites IMO.

Can't wait!

So the 'on paper' is the NCAA rankings? If so, how are the rankings determined?

Seems like you have to play the same schedule in the same venue vs the same players?
Maybe just the scores and eye ball test?

If you look at UTR ratings, which are far from perfect, their players are ranked slightly above ours. They show the "level" of a player based on their results but don't do a good job of capturing things like recent form, injuries, surface preferences and just ability to handle the team environment.

Team rankings using UTR we are #2 and Georgia is #1. It was flipped in the NCAAs last year since we also had Carson.

We definitely have the talent and experience to beat them. Just a matter of showing up with our best stuff.

I noticed in the preseason ITA rankings. Georgia was rated no.1 even though
our Ags had 7 no.1 votes to 3 for Grorgia.

yeah, i think people had questions about us based on what we did with this roster last year until the NCAA tournament. so they dropped us, but Georgia was probably no lower than 3 across every poll

If a player is injured or sick during a match, can a teammate continue the match for that player,
starting from where the original player left off?? Or is that point lost?

Not sure that OU player could have finished last night if she was needed.
