Fantastic trailer.

But damn, that trailer.

It is setting the bar very high. You cant just drop Time by Hans Zimmer for some popcorn flick.

With the focus of Xavier, this movie may rest in the acting ability of James McAvoy. We know Patrick Stewart is gonna be nails. Just by that trailer.

It would be good to actually see some development of the Magneto character from Ian McKellan. Im tired of old guy who shows nothing but angst.

The song is actually from the Sunshine soundtrack, Surface of the Sun. I could see how Hans Zimmer's ripoff could confuse you though.

Check again my friend. At 1:22 they switch to Time.

And you dont have to sell me on John Murphy.

I thought it was Time too... Still this movie expectation just got set to high, not Christopher Nolan high but still high...

maybe Hans Zimmerman will do the score?

Nerd talk time- I was able to recognize Bishop, Warpath, and Blink but it took google to ID Sunspot. I IMDB'd the cast and laughed that two of those for IRL are named BooBoo and BingBing. Sorry for sounding racist but was Paddy Wack not available to play older Siren or Nick Knack for Doug Ramsey?

Watching some insider stuff, they said Brian Singer has to rectify some of the stuff from X2 through Wolverinerigins. Makes you wonder what the films would have been like if Singer was making the trilogy from the beginning.

Its interesting because I hope this film wipes out the "canon" of the other films.

Man, that was insane. Love that body armor looking stuff that the old schoolers are wearing in the first part.

I imagine it'll come across as me sounding sappy, but I'm so thankful that they made the Avengers and it was such a huge hit, because it pushed the other studios to up the ante way way way up and do a project like this, like Batman/Superman and to make a new Star Wars movie.

Also, the trailer should read "From Bryan Singer, director of THe Usual Suspects, X-Men, X2 BUT NOT X3"

Just FYI, re: the music:

- Only the first half of the trailer uses the music from Sunshine. Specifically, track 15: "Sunshine (Adigio in D Minor)," as previously mentioned.

- The music beginning at the 1:25 mark is actually Hans Zimmer's "Journey to the Line" from The Thin Red Line. Used in TONS of trailers over the last decade or so, including Pearl Harbor, the Man of Steel Comic-Con trailer, and as recently as the trailer for 12 Years a Slave just a few months ago.

- Yes, they're both great tracks, but also two of the most over-used tracks for trailers in history. So, kind of unoriginal/disappointing in that regard. But they get the job done, I guess.

- Hans Zimmer's "Time" from Inception WAS used in the Comic-Con trailer from Days of Future Past, so if any of you saw that bootleg, that may be where some of the confusion is coming from (other than Zimmer constantly recycling/re-tooling his own past work).

yea, i still get chills watching/listening to this. i could probably just enjoy a a full length film with actions shots, zimmer's sounds, and crowe narrating

Can't wait for this. I liked First Class a lot, but not as much as many, as I thought it suffered from a pretty weak cast of mutants outside of Magneto, Xavier, Mystique, and maybe Beast. This cast seems like it won't have that issue, and the storyline is inspired by a true classic.

Fassbender was so amazing as Magneto, I've watched his scenes multiple times - when he takes out the retired Nazis in the bar, when he pulls the sub out of the water, and when he kills Shaw - they really showed just how awesomely terrifying Magneto's power can be.

There definitely were some dumb characters in First Class, guy who can fly by screaming, evil Nightcrawler (I know that's not his name, but same power), but you're going to have some duds in every movie. Not everyone can be a bad ass.

How could you not like Azazel?

I dislike Azazel because he was from arguably the worst X-men storyline ever, that's how.
