While his comment regarding the practical effects might be off a bit...I think the take home point is that with CGI being so prominent nowadays hearing things like this are really exciting.

Takes me back to films like Terminator 2. The helicopter chase at the end, crashing, flying under a bridge and nearly crashing into another one all real...as well as the 18 wheeler chase scene all being real.

The gun pull in the MI:6 trailer at the 1:57 mark reminds me of a similar Tom Cruise moment in Collateral (IMO one of the most underrated movies of his career).

Is Tom Cruise the greatest action star ever?

I can't think of a single reason why he isn't. I would say his first real "action" movie for him is the very first "Mission: Impossible" back in 1996. That's thirty years and it seems like he's just getting better at these types of films.

Yeah, I can hear the British but it's not very strong. Almost an in-between, if there is such a thing.

That's not anywhere close to Cavil's normal accent. He's definitely doing an American accent.

but in all seriousness, i think the term "action star" has something of a negative connotation to it. because of that, if you asked a bunch of random people who the best "action star" is, you'd probably get a lot of stallone, arnold, willis, the rock, etc. in full disclosure, i'm not sure i'd have mentioned cruise either.

but there's no doubt that tom cruise makes awesome action movies, that he's consistently very good in those movies and that he's almost insanely dedicated to and works incredibly hard to make those movies awesome.

i'm completely in on this movie.
