I just want to know if the Mozasurus and the humpback whales are still friends.

All the way in.

IMO, this looks better - and scarier - than any other JP movie this century (meaning III through Dominion).

Cannot wait.

Haha- so they totally eliminated the "there is a 3rd island nobody knew about where all the dangerous dinosaurs were kept" from the final trailer.

Because that went over like a lead balloon.

It obviously won't be gone from the movie, but hilarious that they clearly shifted the marketing on that.

I'm confused. Basically the entire trailer is explicitly about that.

TC, I know what you're gonna tell me, that they need to involve kids in the plot in order to draw kids to the theater. But damn, just once I would like to see a JP movie that doesn't stupidly involve bringing kids to this dangerous world filled with deadly eating machines.

Or as a compromise at least have the kid get eaten within the first 15 minutes, lol.

A kid - did we learn nothing from the worst parts of Jurassic Park 2, 3, and 5?

A baby dinosaur - did we learn nothing from Jurassic Park 2?

Green screen acting that never conveys anyone being extremely close to a monstrous, giant animal that is trying to kill them. Person just casually floating underwater as T-Rex gets ready to kill them.- Did we learn nothing from every Jurassic Park since the first one?

Between the first trailer and the frequent teasers for this trailer, I didn't see anything new in this one that made me think I want to go see this movie. It's great to see the T-Rex and the raft , but that's only great because it was so good in the book.

At least it appears to be Tea Leoni free.

Oh, I'll see this in the theater. I'm not sure which came first, but among my earliest memories are dinosaurs and Godzilla. I'm a sucker for both even 50+ years later. But I expect to be at best mildly entertained. Hopefully it won't be a steaming pile like the last 2 were.

The family/kid plot still looks relatively minor, all things considered. My guess is 75% of the runtime is ScarJo and her crew and then 25% or so is the family/kid, which includes the time they're inevitably together with ScarJo & co. Either way, the kids in previous installments were all either central to the plot or with the main crew, while the kid here looks to be more of an afterthought on a side quest. I could be wrong, though.

A baby dinosaur - did we learn nothing from Jurassic Park 2?

Yeah, that's the one thing that looks kind of lame. Almost Disney cartoon-ish.

Green screen acting that never conveys anyone being extremely close to a monstrous, giant animal that is trying to kill them. Person just casually floating underwater as T-Rex gets ready to kill them.- Did we learn nothing from every Jurassic Park since the first one?

I don't know, there wasn't a single shot that conveyed that to me, and nothing in this trailer looks remotely greened screened either. IMO, this is already best cinematography and the best VFX since the '90s installments. Also, that guy's not casually floating underwater. He's clearly being swept with the current, which is taking him directly toward the T-Rex.

Between the first trailer and the frequent teasers for this trailer, I didn't see anything new in this one that made me think I want to go see this movie. It's great to see the T-Rex and the raft , but that's only great because it was so good in the book.

I could not feel more differently. To me, this one looks way more focused, way more intense, and way more adventure-themed. Also, again, it's written by David Koepp, who wrote the original, with Spielberg having a more hands-on approach as well. I totally get having JP fatigue in general, but every sign so far is pointing to this being a good/fun summer blockbuster.

At least it appears to be Tea Leoni free.

Lamentably this is probably the closest we're going to see to the kid getting killed.

Why do both posters I've seen so far look like something I'd walk past in the middle aisles at Blockbuster looking for something else?

You and me both, dude. Considerably nonplussed. Feels like the last one with Starlord just came out and this one doesn't seem to be anything more than another trip to island / dinos are loose standard fare.

what I'd like to see is dump all the humans and start a movie with the amber in Hammond's cane and tell the story backwards of how it came to be and then backwards even more into a full-on dinosaur movie with zero talking. All dinosaurs.

I could not care less about the posters (which are admittedly bad), seeing as footage itself continues to look amazing...

More new footage. Specifically, it looks like we get a new/updated version of the raptor kitchen sequence...

We're still three weeks out, which is an eternity in tracking. If reviews are good, it'll go higher. I admit that no IMAX screens is a blow, but as of Monday it still has the highest interest, and second-highest awareness, of any movie this summer...

Man, I really, really want to jump on board with you....but I just can't. At this point, the only thing that excites me about that movie is Scarlett Johansson, lol.

In the beginning, the horror atmosphere of it almost hooked me until I saw they added another f****** kid to this one. And I think we can safely say by now from all the trailers that kid is going to be in at least three quarters of the movie.

And now I see they're just repeating the raptor in the kitchen scene from JP #1. And I also feel like they've spoiled a LOT of the thrills already in the trailers.

Then again, as much as I loved the book and the first one (supreme love for them), I was never too on board with the rest of them. Cheesy is being kind. So maybe the the fact that i'm not a hardcore jurassic park fan explains my attitude towards this one.

But i'll definitely check out the reviews and see if critics think that I'm wrong.

How is this Jurassic movie 7 points higher than Superman on the awareness scale? I didn't even know there was a new one coming out until this weekend when I saw a commercial for it. Meanwhile, Superman has been all over the place.

Five of the six Jurassic installments so far have each made over a billion at the box office. As popular as Superman is, cinematically speaking he's just not on the same level. Though, who knows, this summer might change that. Either way, general audiences absolutely love these movies, even the worst ones.

I'm getting that same sinking feeling. I love the original, and the original theme got me excited, but then a guy holds himself to a boat with a 10,000 pound Spinosaurus pulling on him. There have been a couple of things throughout the trailers that just stretch my suspension of disbelief.

I mean, literally every one of these movies has multiple "suspension of disbelief" moments like that. Overall, if you're not digging it you're not digging it, but that feels excessively nitpicky.

Like it's every day we see Mosasaurs, Velociraptors, and Tyrannosaurs.

I don't think the first one did. It had a couple of continuity issues like the open car door and appearing cliff, but I can more easily forgive those than blatant violations of the realistic worlds in which the movies exist. The others, I agree, but felt like it took away from those, as well. I still hold out hope for the movie, though!

^ These are from the UK premiere last night, so take them with a slight grain of salt. They also jumped the gun on the embargo, which doesn't lift for a while. Still, a good initial sign at least.
