A kid - did we learn nothing from the worst parts of Jurassic Park 2, 3, and 5?FL_Ag1998 said:
TC, I know what you're gonna tell me, that they need to involve kids in the plot in order to draw kids to the theater. But damn, just once I would like to see a JP movie that doesn't stupidly involve bringing kids to this dangerous world filled with deadly eating machines.
Or as a compromise at least have the kid get eaten within the first 15 minutes, lol.

The family/kid plot still looks relatively minor, all things considered. My guess is 75% of the runtime is ScarJo and her crew and then 25% or so is the family/kid, which includes the time they're inevitably together with ScarJo & co. Either way, the kids in previous installments were all either central to the plot or with the main crew, while the kid here looks to be more of an afterthought on a side quest. I could be wrong, though.
A baby dinosaur - did we learn nothing from Jurassic Park 2?
Yeah, that's the one thing that looks kind of lame. Almost Disney cartoon-ish.
Green screen acting that never conveys anyone being extremely close to a monstrous, giant animal that is trying to kill them. Person just casually floating underwater as T-Rex gets ready to kill them.- Did we learn nothing from every Jurassic Park since the first one?
I don't know, there wasn't a single shot that conveyed that to me, and nothing in this trailer looks remotely greened screened either. IMO, this is already best cinematography and the best VFX since the '90s installments. Also, that guy's not casually floating underwater. He's clearly being swept with the current, which is taking him directly toward the T-Rex.
Between the first trailer and the frequent teasers for this trailer, I didn't see anything new in this one that made me think I want to go see this movie. It's great to see the T-Rex and the raft , but that's only great because it was so good in the book.
I could not feel more differently. To me, this one looks way more focused, way more intense, and way more adventure-themed. Also, again, it's written by David Koepp, who wrote the original, with Spielberg having a more hands-on approach as well. I totally get having JP fatigue in general, but every sign so far is pointing to this being a good/fun summer blockbuster.
At least it appears to be Tea Leoni free.

How is this Jurassic movie 7 points higher than Superman on the awareness scale? I didn't even know there was a new one coming out until this weekend when I saw a commercial for it. Meanwhile, Superman has been all over the place.

Man, I really, really want to jump on board with you....but I just can't. At this point, the only thing that excites me about that movie is Scarlett Johansson, lol.
In the beginning, the horror atmosphere of it almost hooked me until I saw they added another f****** kid to this one. And I think we can safely say by now from all the trailers that kid is going to be in at least three quarters of the movie.
And now I see they're just repeating the raptor in the kitchen scene from JP #1. And I also feel like they've spoiled a LOT of the thrills already in the trailers.
Then again, as much as I loved the book and the first one (supreme love for them), I was never too on board with the rest of them. Cheesy is being kind. So maybe the the fact that i'm not a hardcore jurassic park fan explains my attitude towards this one.
But i'll definitely check out the reviews and see if critics think that I'm wrong.
Like it's every day we see Mosasaurs, Velociraptors, and Tyrannosaurs.TCTTS said:
I mean, literally every one of these movies has multiple "suspension of disbelief" moments like that. Overall, if you're not digging it you're not digging it, but that feels excessively nitpicky.

I'm getting that same sinking feeling. I love the original, and the original theme got me excited, but then a guy holds himself to a boat with a 10,000 pound Spinosaurus pulling on him. There have been a couple of things throughout the trailers that just stretch my suspension of disbelief.
Hugely impressed by #JurassicWorldRebirth, a film that understands dinosaurs are both incredibly majestic and utterly terrifying. The ensemble is fun, and Dolores is the GOAT (iykyk)
