Random theory: The big twist will be when Old Cap shows up to rescue her at some point in the movie.
does not have to be old cap.
Who said it did? But that's why it would be a twist. (The twist being that this is an alternate timeline and not the original Endgame timeline.)

Though actually, I hope this isn't the case, because the implication at the end of Engame was that Old Cap was still in the original timeline and didn't branch off into his own timeline.

It would create an unnecessary plothole.

Seeing as this is set between CW and IW, and the first time we see Black Widow in IW is with Captain America and The Falcon, I wouldn't be surprised if this one ends with the latter two coming to the rescue / helping her out in some way. Or maybe that's the end credit scene... a Captain America cameo.

I think a Cap cameo is certainly possible, but I do think we can almost take it to the bank that Black Widow will not be 'helped out' by a male character.

(Edit: forgot Hulk peaced out there for a while)

She may not be "helped out" but I think she at least connects with Cap and Falcon in some way by the end. I think we also see her go blonde before that point as well.

I think she just goes back to the gang at the end. Maybe we see her meet up with Sam and/or Steve. I think it's one of those "I need to handle this myself" kinds of things.

Nobody loves crossovers more than me, but that's just how the MCU seems to roll by and large. Falcon showing up for one scene in Ant-Man, and Dr Strange in Ragnarok, seem to be the exceptions.

Just my two cents! But far more likely to see Renner, IMO, than Evans.

Yeah, and Evens would have also had to regrow the beard, which I don't think he ever did. Oh, well. We'll see...

I mean, let's be fair. Phase 4 is going to be chock full of cheats. Gamora is dead, Vision is dead, Black Widow is dead, Loki is dead, etc.

They really just shouldn't have killed them in the first place if they're going to bring them all back.

The Gamora in the current GOTG timeline is not dead, just hasn't had any experiences with them. I actually love the possibilities that presents. The third film could have been stale but this gives them many places to go with it.

Loki is an easy one. He's a god after all. Plus we've already seen his cheat. Two of them can be trapped in a stone, and one more resurrected by one. I think it's fair to assume that if the actors want to continue, then the characters will be back.

Iron Man and Cap probably not. (Until they really need the money )

It might be something as simple as Window getting a call from Steve saying he needs her help.

IMO:

Black Widow stays dead
Cap dead for all intents and purposes
Iron Man dead
Different versions of Gamora and Loki
I still think Vision is alive only in a dream form, or maybe is brought back but isn't fully Vision again

That's not too bad. The only thing that makes it bad, I think, would be if any of these theories to bring Tony/Steve/Natasha back ever come true at all. But I don't think the actors want that, so I'm not worried. They didn't stick the landing with Endgame only for them to bring Chris Evans back for another 10 films right away.

Marvel is moving forward with Spider-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Thor, Guardians, Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, the Eternals, etc.

My only concern would be if they get too obsessed with "passing the mantle." We already have the next-versions of Captain America (Falcon), Black Widow (the blonde from this trailer, potentially), Hawkeye (Kate Bishop, in the Disney+ series), Thor (Jane Foster, possibly [though I doubt it]), Hulk (She-Hulk), etc. etc. etc.

Not being willing to let the Phase 1 Avengers go would be the biggest mistake, IMO. There's a very thin line between resurrecting the dead and keeping them all around "in spirit" with new younger versions. It's okay to let them go. I'm great with keeping a few of those around in name only, but you can have the Avengers without Cap, Iron Man or Black Widow.

I think it depends on how well they can integrate in the rest of the Marvel universe. I read a ton of marvel comics as a kid, but pretty much never Iron Man, Hulk, Cap, or Thor. If they start successfully working in the x-men, FF, etc then I think they can let the avengers go.

If a couple of those movies flop, you can expect an Avengers follow up (or reboot) post haste.

What are the odds Hopper and her sister live?

If there is a scene in Budapest, we had better see Renner.

Also, has no one else wondered why this super spy in the MCU goes so frequently as a redhead? Not very subtle.

Marvel will probably do it better than DC did with Henry Cavil's removed stach.

I would really love to see the 5 years between Infinity War and Endgame. That seems like a very rich time gap for good stories. Would have been awesome if this movie filled in that gap a bit.

I'm still curious who's playing Taskmaster because it isn't evident on imdb. Maybe it's O-T ***benle, who I've only seen on The Handmaid's Tale, says his character is Mason. Unless it's an actor we don't know is in the movie yet. He's such a cool villain so I hope they nail the casting.

My theory:

OT ***benle is who people are speculating, but I think it's a misdirection and Taskmaster will actually be Rachel Weizs in a big twist/reveal

assuming you mean florence pugh's character, i'd bet (and hope) she survives. she's fantastic and i can't imagine marvel wanting her just to be a "one and done"

i'd actually be surprised if this movie isn't partially a springboard to her character being part of the next phase

Well, doesn't her comic book character become Black Widow in some version of the Marvel history? So perhaps we get to know her in this movie, then we move forward in time and now that Johannssen is dead Pugh's character becomes the new Black Widow in the movies.

I can dig that...love me some Florence Pugh.

So apparently Ursa Major is theorized to be in this movie and is the one breaking down that door of the prison along side the red guardian. He's a mutant...

Also funny side note, I know I said it earlier that post credit scene...but how this movie takes place, a post credit "scene" would be funny if the screen goes black, and the words Black Widow will return in Avengers: Infinity War would be kinda funny, almost like Captain America in spider man... you waited all the way to the end for nothing
