Same. That was a cool Easter egg

That was something mentioned by the producers, about the gmaeplay vs. show. Since you are controlling the narrative in the game with gameplay (stalking/stealth or run n gun) there is more long paed action sequences that don't translate well to a show that you are just watching. stay true to source material but make it an enjoyable viewing experience.Kampfers said:
It's been a while since I played the game but I remember the fight at the campus being a much bigger to-do. But I think the show has scaled down a number of engagements from the game and I don't think that's a terrible thing in terms of presenting a more realistic/less gamified take on the story.
Great episode, loved the native couple at the beginning. Next week should be great - both from an episode standpoint and a drama standpoint as joker is alluding.
This scene (game and show) gets me every time.johnnyblaze36 said:word for word. recreating one of the best most emotional scenes in tlou. pedro and bella are hands down the perfect joel and ellie. DOWN TO THE TONE THEYRE INSANE #TheLastOfUs pic.twitter.com/10JRmUKLrr

Realistically, I cannot see how Joel would live in such a situation. Even if he can get back up on the horse, it's still a 5 day horse march back to the socialist utopia. And one can assume that the college has been raided for all of it's medical supplies over the years. Yet I know he will live, as the show would suck without him.

I cannot wait for some of those turds watch that play out next year and watch the bans come in
Ellie hardening and Joel softening is like one of the OBVIOUS pillars of the story. Since Ep1.Kampfers said:
My favorite part about the speculations of what is to come (and a telling point of aTm's worldview) is that in all of his wildest ideas about what may happen, Ellie embracing her inner badass is nowhere to be found. It isn't like they have been dropping hints throughout the show about how hardened Ellie has become, like how she had already killed before meeting Joel and how she was the one who didn't break down emotionally after burying the kid.
I give her killing a bunch of cannibals a 75% chance of raising "this is ridiculous, a teenage girl could never!" compaints

Have we seen Troy Baker yet? He is supposedly playing a military grunt. I don't recall seeing him earlier this season.
Maybe in the Ellie flashbacks next epi.
Met Troy Baker once a few years ago. He was as high as a kite lol

Troy Baker is listed for episode 8, so maybe one of the cannibals
I'm having a hard time fully enjoying the TV character. Even with the lines that are word for word from the game...I think it is just how AJ delivered them in tone in the game that came off a bit more sweet/innocent in part 1. TV Ellie seems more hardened and abrasive.jokershady said:
question for us here....cause it's been discussed A TON on the other thread and not quite as much here....but we are now 6 episodes in to this thing
What's y'alls opinion of Ellie? At the beginning I wasn't 100% sure but overall thought she was pretty good.....now after this most recent episode i think she's pretty much nailing it especially with the pivotal conversation between her and joel towards the end about joel dumping her with tommy.....
the only complaint is she doesn't look like the version of Ellie from the game and while i thought that'd be distracting im used to it now....
curious to hear what other gamers here think of her now that were through 6 episodes.....and bare in mind this could change a lot since episode 7 is clearly gonna be the DLC episode and very Ellie centric....
While I have enjoyed this interpretation of Ellie, I do agree that it is pretty different. It almost seems like a caricature of Ellie, with the teenager sarcasm and abrasiveness amplified. Just different. Could have been better, could have been worse. Still good.AvsB said:I'm having a hard time fully enjoying the TV character. Based on how Ellie has grown up, it makes sense to me that she's a little more gruff/disenfranchised in the show. I think she and Pedro have better chemistry now than they did at the beginning. She's doing a great job IMO. She's able to convey that a lot of her toughness is posturing as well IMO, she's protecting herself, which she has to.AvsB said:I'm having a hard time fully enjoying the TV character.
