I'm not sure how one could come away with "no explanation on how they grabbed T'challa."

I was with them up until he mentioned he outsourced to his subordinates, but didn't catch them saying they were looking for otherworldly materials. Was that explicitly stated or implied?

Either way, this one hinges a lot more on happenstance and random luck of the draw than anything, and that's what I really didn't dig too much.

It's sort of the equivalent of "what if Baby Yoda became Darth Vader" just because they're the exact same age, rather than a "what if Obi-Wan joined Count Dooku", where it's all about one decision that changed everything.

Watch with the closed caption on and 99% of your questions are answered. It made total sense to me.

Nothing was implied. In this instance it was what if Yondu sent his 2 idiot sidekicks to find Quill instead of do it himself. So it is based on a single decision.

Yup, Yondu mentions that he sent them to find Quill and when they registered some crazy energy levels they looked there and found T'Challa.

I loved that episode. I have gotten more emotional about stuff as I push deep into my 40s, but that had all the feels. If Chadwick was still alive it would have been amazing and hilarious. With him dead and gone, it was both of those things and emotionally painful/powerful, especially him welcome home back to Wakanda at the end.

The Thanos stuff was some of the funniest **** I've seen in a long time with him still trying to argue that it's not actually genocide, as well as Korath being so invested in being Starlord's best friend.

Did Bautista turn them down or did they snub him? His delievery is so recognizable that it felt really weird not to have him there.

And bulked up superhero Collector was hilarious.

Summed up a lot of my thoughts. I rewatched Justified this year and Chadwick shows up in one of the episodes, I think in season 2, caught me by surprise. It's weird how you can develop an attachment to a character/actor, but there's something about that guy I just liked. He's in my single favorite moment of the entire MCU, when he comes out of the portal after Cap hears Sam, and just gives him a look. I still remember the theater going nuts.

I really enjoyed the episode, emotional and fun.

RIP Chadwick

Bald cyborg Nebula is too, tbh.

Early buzz on Episode 3 is that it's Loki winning the Battle of New York and the aftermath

Another thing I missed, no Gamora, no Rocket, no Groot. I get that it was more focused on the T'Challa story but with the GOTG tie-in, was at least hoping they made an appearance.
So much is changed by having T'Challa instead of Quill.

  • Ravagers become the good guys
  • they mention defeating Ronan and also convert Thanos, so Drax's family is supposedly saved I would guess.
  • Depending on when Thanos' conversion happened, it is possible that Gamora's planet was "saved" (they were supposedly starving before Thanos cleaned it out). So she is never kidnapped
  • Not sure how Nebula gets into the picture, maybe she came along before Gamora, so that part of the timeline remained?
  • Rocket and Groot were a team collecting space bounties. They would presumably still be out there, just not part of the GOTG.
  • Ego finds Quill and may presumably take over the galaxy...... (I wonder if the Ravagers could end up going on an infinity guantlet mission to stop Ego? that would be cool)

Wasn't Groot locked up in one of the Collector's Containers?

No, he said something about wanting Groot's body after he died.

Well that was wrong.
I actually think that one is still coming later.

Wasn't my favorite episode so far, but it was good in its own right. I could have done without the Loki part. The story was already busy as a murder mystery. Cool take on the fury's busy week comic

This was dark, especially with Hulk.

That was really fun. Definitely had the tone of some of the original run of comics. Loved how dark it got, with real stakes.

That said, the sequence leading up to that REALLY made me want an animated Hulk series.

I figured out what this episode reminded me of - DC's Doom. (Where all the Justice League members get picked off one-by-one.) I won't spoil it for you, but it's an outstanding story.

oh i liked this episode. two things that went sideways on this one was that Cap had yet to be find but I cant remember exactly when he was found in reference to Ironman and such. Also I missed what mission Hope was recruited and what changed to cause that difference in this timeline.

I can totally see the parallels there, good call.

This was a really fun ep, very different vibe than the others but really well done. And the camera work on this show continues to be fantastic.

i've only watched Episode 3 once so far, so this might change, but it's my least favorite thus far. i still enjoyed it, just not as much as the first two.

it's really interesting to think what the avengers would look like after that and i hope they explore that. obviously you got cap and captain marvel, but you lose a lot of intelligence with tony and bruce gone and hank as a bad guy. until wakanda gets in the mix with shurri at least.
Dr. Horrible
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Well, they don't accidentally create ultron, so no sokovia accords, so wakanda stays isolated.

In the regular MCU timeline, the events of IM2, Thor, Hulk and the finding of Cap in the ice happen within a week. There was a prelude comic that was released before Avengers 1 tcalled Fury's Big Week hat shows this and catches the audience up on what leads to Avengers 1.

Ryan talks about it here in the beginning of his Easter egg video.

Hope being recruited by SHEILD is the event that caused to break in the time line which created this reality. Also, since she died near Odessa in the Ukraine, it's extremely possible that the Winter Soldier killed her.

of course, but they've already announced that captain carter will be back in season 2, so there will obviously be further exploration of at least some of these episodes

That was a fun one, although it felt a little like old-timey TV where we have zero indication of who the villain is to almost the very end. I don't usually like that. Michael Douglas and Sam Jackson voice work together though is pretty awesome. Hank Pym was wearing the Yellow Jacket suit, right? I thought that was a great touch since it's clearly an offensive weapon.

I love all the references to Thor's hair and Coulson's Cap-love password.

They're all connected in the multiverse of madness. I'm really thinking though that some of these timelines get referenced at least in the multiverse of madness and are a direct result of the events of Loki. I bet there is a connecting thread of some sort between each of these stories other than "the watcher" watching them because it seems like marvel doesn't do anything without some purpose.

When Black Widow was pulling up the Avengers files on the computer, I saw four personnel profiles pop up. I think they were Fury, Coulson, Maria Hill, and Janet Van Dyne?

Also cool to hear Frank Grillo reprising his pre-Crossbones character.

It's also nice to twist super powers we are used to being used for good to be long used for evil and seeing how terrifying those powers are.

Side note: not sure if it was an intentional homage, but the shot where Pym activates the Yellowjacket weapon and fired on a disappearing Fury gave me some serious The Last Jedi vibes.
