I kinda have a problem with 5-stone Thanos getting one-shotted by (essentially) Vision. If it was that easy then they should have won IW, just distract him for 3 seconds and then cut in half…
Thanos was caught off-guard. first, the planet had been essentially destroyed. We have to assume Thanos would be surprised by this. Second, Ultron was ready and given he's AI processed the info, Thanos and the stones extremely fast. Seems plausible given how fast a super computer can process information. So he did what Ultron would do. Size up the situation in milliseconds and take decisive action. Thanos is a living being and while very smart and holding the stones, may take a second longer to react to the laser and block it.

In IW, Vision (who was severely injured already) wasn't standing (floating) there waiting for Thanos to arrive in Wakanda. The Avengers were trying to keep Vis away from Thanos and his army and so when he arrived, Wanda was with Vis about to destroy the mind stone. Vision's main concern was eliminating the stone from the scene. In hindsight, it was the wrong decision as their best chance was for Vis to fire the laser as Thanos was distracted fighting the other Avengers. By the time Thanos was in range of Vis, Vis was already dead and the stone was destroyed. Thanos used the time stone to reanimate Vis but immediately grabbed and and ripped the stone out of his head. Vision wasn't ready for that. Also in hindsight, learning what the stones really can do would have been huge. The Avengers do learn this more in EG before going back in time. But unfortunately they didn't have time to learn about the powers of each stone. I am not sure if Strange, Wong and the sorcerers knew the details of each stone either but I figure they have the information somewhere in their library.

There are whole realities in the comics dominated by Ultron. If he gets off the chain he's a bad dude. So on that end him owning Thanos is not surprising. However, it was pretty silly watching Ultron struggle with Black Widow and Hawkeye the whole episode but one shot Thanos holding 5 Infinity Stones

Yeah - this all makes sense but I still say Thanos is a dumbass. If you're going to portal in all cocky, to fight whoever is holding the Mind Stone already (and therefore extremely formidable), and you don't have your guard up already? Then you a dumbass.

Glad for some Ultron redemption though, he's a top-3 Avengers for.

We learned in The Incredibles that sometimes the downfall of the villain is when they start monologuing. Thanos sort of has that air about him. His ego is massive. Like any powerful person, he has a posse telling him how great he is at all times. Even bowing to him after carrying out his assignments.

Thanos isn't used to quick action from inhabitants of a planet he pops into. I think it whacky that Ultron Vision filleted him so easily but see how that could happen.

Thanos was a victim of his own past success.

In the final battle between Ultron and The Watcher, did we see Galactus for a moment show up and take a bite out of a galaxy?

I was disappointed where they took the show, having Ultron breakthrough his reality and fight the Watcher. I enjoyed them much more when they were seemingly independent episodes, just exploring a different outcome. Although it'll allow Marvel to reintroduce deceased characters in future movies if they want.

Ultron was terrifying in the comics when I was a kid. Him having the stones would be the worst case scenario. But I don't recall his programming being so "one track mind" that he would have decided to destroy every universe.

He's an AI. Shouldn't he have learned that he can do something else besides destroy?

What an awesome finale. Loved how they wrapped it up.

Solid finale. Think Gamora was from the episode they didn't finish in time for this season? That will be odd seeing it out of order in S2.

I also wonder if S2 will follow the same pattern of introducing a lot of alternate heroes and then making them team up for a multiverse threat
Thanks and gig'em

This show kinda dragged in the middle for me, but those last two episodes were awesome and totally made up for the lull in the middle.

Are the final two sequel episodes or each are standalone?

Very cool way to wrap up the season. Weird having the Gamora alt character here when we didn't get her episode. (Space Iron Man armor looked pretty cool.)

I dropped off after the Strange episode, but those last two were pretty dope.

I liked when they recreated the spinning hero shot from the first Avengers.

I enjoyed those last two episodes most of the series. I particularly noted how they did an Endgame ending but in reverse, with Carter getting back to Rogers.

I was wondering wtf you were talking about and didn't realize there were mid credit scene. You would think I would have watched till the end with it being marvel.

I think this show is a 6/10. Lots of ideas that are cooler in theory than in execution. I don't really want a season 2 but I guess I'll have to watch it, as an MCU fanatic.

Also agree. Last episode was cool. Most of the others were boring, and many took multiple sittings for me to get through. Not excited about another season but I'll turn it on when I have nothing better to do.

It was the only one that had a mid-credit scene (IIRC), and so very sneaky. I almost didn't see it myself.
