I think last nights vote was kinda dumb but I also get it - kinda go all-in on your alliance or don't.

Evvie is one to watch out for. Even in this changed game she is miles ahead of anyone else in her tribe regarding strategy. She effectively rooted out the only opposition in her tribe and runs the show. Xander can only watch until the other idols are discovered. But even if his idol is activated he is still in a pickle.

Woke politics aside it is a very interesting season.

Obviously you don't know the "risk" until you accept and read it, but I feel like in any season going forward, I would probably not accept the risk and maybe spy on the advantage spot to trap a teammate. He's voteless for who knows how long - potentially forever or until he's voted out. That sucks!

Evvie is doing a good job but definitely made things tougher than they had to be this week. I think siding with the girls made sense for that tribe but I don't know why they voted for Voce and not Xander. Tiffany had zero agency at that point and should just be happy someone has her back and wants to keep her in the game. Her pushing so hard for Voce could have easily pushed them to switch to voting her out.

I think Evvie should have just told her to trust them and vote out Xander especially since she told Deshawn that she was going to vote out Xander. No need to give someone else a reason to distrust you when you have control of your tribe.

That idol is a ticking time bomb and now that Deshawn knows about it. If someone like Brad finds it with the green tribe, it could end up being key to ending her game early.

Evvie and Xander are hoping for the Denise/Malcolm approach.

Xander is in quite the predicament. He went from being one piece away from having immunity to having no power. His best bet is to team up Evvie but that is unlikely. I also feel like Ricard runs his tribe without actually saying anything.

I didn't watch last week but is the game thread nuked?

I think Xander squeaks by because it's about time to switch it up.

Very clever game this time. Much more finesse. I'm enjoying it.

Normal people. No hard bodies. Xander is the only model type player.

Man...it's really gone downhill.

My wife still loves it, so I'm there while she's watching it. She was really excited about the edit to not reveal the third guy had found the HII until after he said the thing. It's a whole lot of meh to me.

I think this season was always going to be a let down. There was no way they were going to follow up season 40 in a way that was as entertaining or better.

If I am in another tribe the first people I'm voting out after the merge are Shan and Ricard.

And now, "Woke Jeff" after asking and getting permission to say, "Come on in, Guys!", just says, "Come on in".

I still watch the same way I still watch SNL.

I think it's easy to say we would target Shan and Ricard first because we know what's happening in all of the tribes but in the game I'm definitely not targeting the smallest tribe after the merge. They are a number for people in the bigger tribes in the minority plus I feel like Shan and Ricard are turning on each other before they could make it to the end.

I ignore all of the small stuff because I don't even notice it in the long run (the no "hey guys" etc) I just roll my eyes and keep it moving. I think the season has been good so far. I could do without some of these advantages but still interesting to see them work their way through it all.

I think my only beefs with this season are beefs that come with it being my first week-by-week season season maybe Palau. I'm liking it though.

While true, I'd hope that other players would notice the strength of both Shan and Ricard since they voted everyone else off their tribe. Plus numbers this season kind of get negated by the idol/advantage combo.

I feel like Shan messed up when she voted out both JD and Genie. Both of those players probably would have been loyal to her had they made it to the merge but now it looks like Ricard will back stab any chance he can get.

Shan has a chance. Ricard has none. He's slimey and good players will see through it.

Shan's making big moves at the point of the game when you need to be making allies. Ricard will sell her up the river as soon as it's convenient for him. All he's doing now is watching her run around like a chicken with it's head cut off in 50 different scenarios, then he agrees to one and the target is never even remotely on him.

She is, but it's in 1 camp that no one knows about. She's developed a relationship with that other woman of color.

She can lay low for a while, build relationships, and let them pick off each other in the bigger tribes where they don't like people. And her pitch to the jury will be that she had no alliances and build them, etc. She's still a long shot.

Do we assume tonight they just go to 2 tribes? The promos made it look like a twist.

Do you remember that year when they did the fake merge - had the beach, had them both on the same beach, but Probst never said merge or handed out new buffs - and then all the running around forming alliances went up in smoke?

It was actually the terrible Survivor Thailand year, I looked it up

Worst season IMO!

Interesting episode. I always wanted some kind of challenge where half(ish) of the players could win immunity.

I don't know if you've ever read the guy on EW.com that regularly reviews the episodes (he's a former contestant but I can't think of his name ) - anyway he ranks the seasons after every season finale, and that one is always dead last.
