I have noticed that throughout this season that right before an immunity challenge or tribal council the show's editors put up a pic-to-gram type puzzle. Last night it was just before tribal council. The only clue that I could decipher was the last item which seemed to be musical notes followed by a "- N" which I took to delete the "N" which would leave the word "oats."

Has anyone else noticed this, and if so, can you help enlighten me as to solving the puzzle?

No way. Vecepia, Michelle (I think she only went to 6 tribals or something?), Fabio, Amber, Natalie (Samoa) come to mind.

I don't agree with all of that list but Xander and Ricard would be worthy. Erika and Deshawn need to do something - I'd be pretty let down if either one. But still not worst ever IMO.

That ginger Tommy from a few seasons ago was pretty weak. Dean should have won that season.

IMO, this is the most unlikeable cast in history. Of the 5 left, I'm pulling for the only person that doesn't irritate me - Xander.

This season could go down as the most undeserving winner ever. (who currently holds that title?)
Not even close.

Hot take. Care to elaborate?

I remember his "I had all the advantages" pitch but other than that, I thought he sucked. May be misremembering though.

It just felt like Tommy rode coattails and played it safe while Dean played the game better. At the end, the women on the jury turned against Dean lead by that crying idiot Karishma. Dean was a decent looking guy, the type of guy that wouldn't give certain women the time of day, and it just felt like a number of them were projecting some type of "guys like you did me wrong" energy against him. They mentioned about how he lied but to me, deception is an integral part of Survivor and playing the game.

You're probably not wrong but you have to be able to lie and still get the jury to vote for you. Tommy rode the coattails but got the jury's vote. That's a winning strategy as well.

There is a reason why the player who lied is still in the game and those who didn't are the one voting on the winner.
I always hated when the jury voted for the player who played the safer game because they were mad at the player who played a bolder more ambitious game and initiated the move that put them on the jury.

I hate it too but it's part of the game. You have to lie to them and still get them to vote for you.

If I remember correctly Dean lied to them in final tribal and got caught. You can lie all day in Survivor but not at the end when you are supposed to lay everything out there. I think Tommy played the game similar to Ethan when he won. He did draw the short straw when he found a immunity idol/advantage clue but couldn't follow up on it alone because you have to be able to see colors and he is color blind. Tommy knew the only way he was going to win was if Lauren didn't make it to the end, convinced Noura to take him to final tribal and I believe he helped Dean learn how to make fire and didn't help Lauren. I think you can win the game by winning all the competitions, being social and loved by most of the cast or some combination of the two.

I still think Chris Underwood is the least deserving of the win for the simple fact that he was out of the game longer than he was in the game and you had another player in the finals who made some moves and never received a vote the whole game in . I completely agree with helloimustbegoing that Thailand is by far the most unlikable cast. I like this season's cast. I may not agree with everything that they all have to say but I can probably say that for every season's cast in some way.

He spent 75% of the time not playing the game hanging out with the jury and getting them fish.

I hated that season.

Only 1 episode left. Since the original thread got kiboshed, how about we do a post-your-picks mini-game? Assuming everyone feels OK doing so without pissing themselves, of course.

List the remaining five players: Xander, Ricard, DeShawn, Erica, and Heather in the order you think they'll finish the game. Please note like

1st:
2nd:
3rd:
4th:
5th:

You get 1 point for picking 5th right, 2 points for 4th, 3 for 3rd, 4 for 2nd, 5 for 1st. That's it.

My guess is

1st: Erica
2nd: Xander
3rd: Ricard
4th: Heather
5th: DeShawn

Feel free to play, or don't.

Read online not long til the next season - March 9, 2022.

1. Deshawn
2. Xander
3. Heather
4. Erika
5. Ricard

I think Xander is runner up. Heather is the zero vote finalist. Deshawn or Ricard is my winner… whichever one doesn't win I think is out first on finale night.

1. Xander
2. Erika
3. Heather
4. Deshawn
5. Ricard

I'm betting on Ricard losing the next challenge, and then Xander either winning immunity or fire.

To be clear, as far as best gameplay I think it's Ricard, Xander, Erika, Deshawn, Heather

If Xander makes it to 4, and wins immunity, he needs to build fire.

4. Erika
5. Deshawn

I agree with tjack in that it's between Ricard and Deshawn for the win. Only way I see Xander or Erika winning is if they take out Ricard and Deshawn along with a win in fire.

Ricard goes at 5.

Xander wins immunity at 4 and takes down Deshawn in fire.

That's his best path.

Listening to exit press on RHAP it seems like nobody on the jury really respects Xander's game.

So his only path to win is taking out one of the big guns with fire, and sitting next to Erika/Heather

If it's a final two, as has been hinted a few times, and Heather is not in it, Erica could conceivably get all 5 women on the jury to vote for her. If there is a final 3, there would only be 8 members of the jury and a 4-4-0 vote seems entirely likely.

I think Jeff said there would be two immunities and a fire making challenge so that would make it a final three. I don't think there is a combo where there would be a tie but if that's the case, the third finalist would decide the winner.

I agree, I feel like the edit is telling us something similar. They seem to be showing us that Xander isn't doing as much as he is claiming to do in his confessionals.

Hypothetical in discussion of tie breakers. In the seasons win a final 2 and 8 person jury (Micronesia) and the final 3 with a 9 person jury… how would ties have been determined?

For example heroes vs villains. How would they have determined a 3-3-3 final tribal tie?

Hard to see how three players could be that equal but if it were to happen, it would probably go to fire making for the winner or picking a rock to eliminate one and revote?

Rather just go back to classic survivor, where the only "twist" is the timing of the merge. I'm sick of all of this hidden immunity idol and advantage crap. Just play the game straight up.

The jury didn't seem to really react well to Xander and the assumptions he was making. It was a strange choice not to take Heather because his two biggest threats are Erika and Deshawn and he effectively eliminated the weakest threat with his decision.

I think Xander made the right call - it just backfired. He was 3 seconds away from sitting next to two people with identical resumes.

Damn!

This final tribal could go either way.

I think Deshawn has burned too many bridges but he will get emotional at tribal which might help him.
Erika has done nothing but has gotten a surprising amount of screen time recently which makes me think somehow she can take it.
Xander has a decent shot but his age and lack of big moves might hurt him.

Could easily see a close vote. Like 4-3-1 or 4-2-2

In the fire challenge, once you have the fire going, you have to stack the wood like a teepee to get height. Once all her kindling burned up, she fell behind.

But yes, if there's a breeze, you have to move around and block the wind.
