Surprising finish. I thought Richard or Heather deserved the money based on their game play.

I liked most of the new twist....even though most of them did not get used in the way the producers intended.

After season 41 I went back and watched a couple old seasons and I think that Season 41 is really poor in comparison. The length of the gameplay and the edit really had an effect on the quality of this season. Erika must have really done something to win the final vote 7-1 or the Jury really all have a wack way of deciding the winner. It honestly could be both.

I really had high hopes for this season but it makes sense why this season was a dud when you think about how great season 40 was. Hopefully 42 will be better.

I was thinking the same thing. I was shocked when Zander didn't get one vote....of the final 3 he seemed to play far and away the best game. The edit must have really hid alot of what got Erica 7 votes. Snoozer of a season historically speaking for sure! I'm so over all the woke bs too...almost making it unwatchable.

They really didn't like Xander. That's all it came down to. I read that on Twitter prior to the finale.

Because of the Pandemic they did not have the fan vote for the best survivor player in Survivor 41.

The fan favorite vote ensures that the most well like Survivor player also gets prize money.

If they had the fan favorite vote I'm guessing Zander or Heather would have won.

Doesn't really matter in the end. But i can say with confidence that in 2 seasons time I will have completely forgotten about Erika as a winner.

I think I read somewhere that Survivor 42 will be called Survivor Woke Island.

The new twists to this season where a success.even if they did not really change the game. I like the idea of the hidden immunity idols having some risk and reward.

Recent survivor had become too much of a treasure hunt which took away from a lot of the game play. I like certain instances of Probst breaking the 4th wall and speaking directly to the audience (about a hidden immunity idol...etc)

A lot of people were disappointed in Xander's 3rd place finish at the Final Tribal Council. He played the most TV appealing game.

He was viewed as fake because he said one thing and did another too many times especially in Yase. He found the idol and go the extra vote advantage and told his tribe that he would use it for him or them if it was needed. When the time came to use it for one of them (Evie), he didn't. Now that tribal, he didn't need to because Sydney went home but he didn't know that.

For his extra vote, he didn't use it for a Yase member but used it against one in Liana and to help secure Ricard in the game. Then when it came down using his idol he mentioned to Ricard that he was thinking about using his idol to save Ricard and then just used it for himself.

All of his decisions to use his advantages for himself is perfectly fine and probably what I would do too but you can't lead other players to think you're going to use it for their benefit and then when you don't , not take a hit on your social game for it. Not to mention his reads on the game were usually off except for his reads on him being safe enough every week to not need his idol.

Back for more. The general consensus from those that read post-game interviews, etc. is that Erika got an absolutely dog**** edit. She was basically edited out of the season where all the jurors raved about her. Great job CBS!

I wonder if they did that intentionally to keep the audience on their toes? She definitely was way more personable than Xander was, which is probably why all the Jurors raved about her. Now that I think about it I cant remember anyone not liking her.

It's a shame! Apparently there were entire alliances formed that weren't shown. The edit makes it look like Ricard was the power player but everyone says it was Erika. It's like they sacrificed a strong ending for a stronger mid season.

Nothing on the new season? Seems like another cast of most woke Gen Z kids. The guy who got voted out last night was a supposed "super fan", and wanted to make sure everyone knew about it. Bold strategy, didn't work out.

Yeah I'm a bit annoyed with him as a viewer - and would be as a tribe mate too (thankfully they didn't lose and aren't down 4-6-6). I get the good intentions of it but you can't trick the Survivor casting/medical, and you stole a spot from someone else who might have made it more than two scenes and a rowing challenge. Just a bummer.

We can't just use the same thread? With the whole Jackson thing, I was fine with it. They both got something out of it but to see people on social media complaining about production "using" Jackson for his story and ignoring the fact that he intentionally kept something from them knowing they would move on to someone else was working my last nerve.

I listened to Zach's exit interview and he seemed to have something negative to say about all of his tribemates except for maybe Swati. He blamed Tori for him going home even though it was mostly his own doing, never got along with Drea for whatever reason, said the most fun he had on the island was when Rocksroy wasn't around, and even shaded Romeo saying he would never have turned on him, even though he recognized that Romeo had relationships with some of the others that he didn't have. Hearing all of this, confirms they got out the right person. That tribe seems like a mess. The tribe that Jonathan is in might never see a tribal until the merge. That guy was a beast in the first episode. When it comes to physical comps, he doesn't seem to have much competition. His weakness is definitely going to be puzzles.
