Why is Spiderman wearing 2 different suits in the trailer? One is red and black, and the other is the Stark suit.

There's four that I count: the black-logo from Far From Home, the black and gold, the Iron Spider suit, and the white logo suit in the liberty fight scenes.

Theory… the Tom-Holland-verse version of Uncle Ben is somehow brought back via the multiverse, in a poignant moment cameo, and he's played by a relatively big star.

This is so good. And bonus points for touching on my X-Men/Statue of Liberty theory at the end…

I bet it's an 80's actor. Like a John Cusack, Sean Astin, Andrew McCarthy, or pretty much anyone in the Brat Pack.

Wasnt there talk of Tom Cruise joining the MCU....I mean....he'd be the right age to be the husband of Marisa Tomei

Speaking of, what ever happened to the movie soundtrack? When's the last time a superhero movie had a successful soundtrack release of contemporary music written for the movie?

I wouldn't count Guardians as that's a collection of 80's hits.

Ok, based on Tom Hollands comments about maybe being done with Spider-Man, and his contract up, etc. and this trailer -- where he says the best week of his life post spider bite is when MJ knew and no one else did, I have a theory:

Tom Holland's Spider-Man is going to find a universe where he isn't Spider-Man and go be happy with MJ there and this film will introduce Mile Morales who will take over as Spider-Man in the MCU
I doubt this as it has been confirmed (At least I thought it was) that TH will still be in Spider-Man movies going forward but that this ends the HS/"Home" series of movies and the next series will move on from Peter's HS life and into his college life and perhaps moving away from certain HS friends. Like Ned and/or MJ won't be in the movies going forward potentially but that Holland will be Spider-Man still. And also, that there will probably be continued connection with the MCU.

Holland had made some comments about things ending with this movie and some had construed that to mean he was leaving and that all connection to the MCU would be over. But either he or the studio came out and said that there would be another series of movies and maybe a few series, like his college years than his young adult years etc if it comes to that obviously. Heck, I had no clue we would still have Tony Stark/Iron Man through 2023 (per MCU time line) so I could see this lasting for a few more years. I think with the MCU, things are different than back in the days when most of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man cast only wanted to do a limited amount of films. The MCU really seems to have changed the perception surrounding the whole "type-cast" thing.

Probably doesn't hurt that Tom Holland and a lot of the others are still doing other things away from the MCU.

Yeah, but Holland just said in an interview that if he's still playing Peter Parker into his 30s, something has gone wrong. Holland is 25 for reference.

I think there are a lot of rumors about plans for Spider-Man, but if this movie cracks open the multi-verse and has different versions of Peter Parker, played by different actors, then they surely can make lots more Spider-Man films without Tom Holland.

It's not even a matter of whether or not they can. If there's money in it, they will continue to reboot Spider-Man as many times as they can.

Yeah I'm saying in the existing rumored structure of movies to come -- that the structure may already be built around a different version of Spider-Man not Tom Holland. Of course they can and will make Spider-Man if there is money to be made.

Well it kind of is a matter of whether they can, because Disney and Sony have to agree on things if the MCU is involved.

I heard on a podcast yesterday some guys talking about how this is basically Iron Man 3, in that it'll most likely be the last solo movie for the character, but then Disney will almost assuredly back up a truck load of money onto Holland's lawn to make appearances every so often in other/group MCU movies. That, and I just can't see how they top a third solo movie with a fourth if they were to follow Holland's Parker to college or whatever. After teaming with alternate dimension Spider-Men to fight All the Spider-Man Villains Ever, where do you even take the character from there? Back to trying to juggle school work while fighting some New York-based villain, except this time in college? I just can't see it.

They could sort of work him into a Nova origins movie if they wanted to use the TV version of the Sam Alexander character. He's friends with Peter Parker and they train with SHIELD together for a while.

Yeah, something like that where Parker could have a decent-sized role, and still has an arc we care about, be in college, etc, but it's basically someone else's movie, or a bigger group movie.

I didn't spend any time on it, I grew up with most of those songs and their release years are part of my memory.

I was just poking some fun at you for calling the GOTG soundtrack a collection of 80s music.
