Working through all the Spiderman flicks with the wife since she has forgotten 90% of them.

Spiderman - Good except for Power Rangers villain.
Spiderman-2 - Would not change a thing.
Spiderman-3 - Sandman cool, Venom terrible (no surprise)

AS - Awesome. Villain was OK. No JJJ and Daily Bugle.
AS2 - Next up to rewatch.

Back when the MTV Movie Awards were good.

Btw, the Raimi trilogy was recently added to Peacock Premium. (The one nobody has.) But only $5 to watch em and cancel.

Just watched the first one for the first time in over a decade.

So I'm currently watching Spider-Man 2 (for the first time in over a decade at least), and seeing it from a bit of a new perspective. It really is kind of a perfectly written movie. No scene is wasted.

By the time it hits the 20 minute mark, you have a complete picture of Peter Parker's struggles with money, jobs, college, and his feelings for MJ.

By minute 30, we've already established his constant disappointment of MJ, the villain's backstory, and him losing his powers.

From as setup perspective it's kind of a perfect first act.

In hindsight, Peter shoulda got the # of that blonde with the baby.

It's interesting that in NWH, Otto knows Spider-Man's identity, a fact he only learns minutes before he dies at the end of SM2.

So however he shows up in the MCU multiverse, I guess it'll happen right after he drowns the fusion ball.

I'm not sure the other Spideys will be EXACTLY the ones from the other movies. Might be parallel world that are very close, which gives NWH a little wiggle room.

I think I read a quote somewhere saying that Otto in NWH is the same Otto from SM2 moments after disappearing into the river.

Can't wait for this.

REALLY can't wait for the new soundtrack because the last one was a banger. Easily my most listened to album the last few years.

To me, Into the Spiderverse is legit one of the best movies made in a while. I love everything about it. So, yeah, I'm pretty damn excited about this.

My non super hero/sci-fi fan daughter loves this movie so much. She jumped up in the air when I told her there was a new trailer to watch. Think I'm going to convince the rib to let me take them both to No Way Home, solely because she'll have a few hours of peace to herself.

If some version of Miles shows up in NWH, a % of that theater is going to explode.

tend to agree...there haven't been many that long in the MCU and when they have been, they didn't really feel all that long.

except eternals...that felt like a four hour runtime

That just gives me goosebumps thinking about a cameo. Loved that movie and might go ahead and say it is my favorite Spider-Man yet.

A comparison of other marvel movie runtimes:

" It's quite unusual for a standalone Marvel movie to run for over 150 minutes. The longest of the lot is Captain America: Civil War at 147 minutes, and that's because it was a mini-Avengers movie to be honest. In fact, The Avengers (143) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (141) were shorter. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, at 137 minutes, is next up. It's followed by Captain America: The Winter Soldier (136), Black Panther (134), Black Widow (134), Spider-Man: Homecoming (133), Shang-Chi, Iron Man 3 (131), Thor: Ragnarok (130), and Spider-Man: Far From Home (129). Everything else is around two hours or under."

Well yeah, but that's hundreds of millions of dollars lost. Not that it makes much difference I guess, but just would've been cool to see how huge the numbers could've been for this movie.

Just FYI, the world premiere is tonight in Hollywood. Critics and journalists will be attending. The reaction embargo lifts at 10:30 PM PT, immediately following the premiere, so prepare yourselves accordingly. Spoilers will likely be everywhere. I obviously won't be posting them here, but I will be posting vague, spoiler-free reactions.
